Jett is pure talent. Being phenomenal on a bike comes easy to him (his own father has stated this). Deegs is all heart and hard work. When heart and hard work defeats pure talent, not just in sports but on any type of battlefield, that is when legends are made and they ultimately become the most beloved and remembered of all times. Bravery will always supplant capability in the history books. Deegs’ star is rising faster than ever, contrary to the title of this thread. The kid has balls of steel.

Jett looked really good. But, Deegan has no quit and will no doubt get better, His second National and he's on the box. Pretty friggin impressive. He came through the pack also...so Deegs is doing just fine. If I were Jett, I'd be worried about this kid. He's going to win.

Anyone else noticed Deegan just shaking his head after moto 2 btw? Despite what he or some people say, he is NOT happy with that result and definitely expected to win. He kept Hunter behind him for the better part of the moto and Jett within a few seconds until he admittedly tightened up and got arm pump . Im not sure I’ve seen anyone besides Tomac or Chase do the same . Deegs being a rookie and accomplishing that while Tomac and Chase are seasoned vets says alot to me .

I’ll give you one example- villo in 09 got lapped once or twice in Supercross when he moved up- he was the furthest thing from a factor. Then at the end of the season, he beat everyone and then went on his run. Deegan just got third. THIRD. In his second 450 race. How you just write off the next ten years or potential battles is incredible

I can’t stand him, but you have to respect what he’s achieved and the hard work that got him there. He sucked in the sand, so he has the team go to Southwick to train. He sucked at woops, so he goes through them a few thousand times to learn them. His start weren’t great so he does start after start. He’s relentless in his preparation, and I think he will work just as hard on his 450 technique. Will he beat Jett? I don’t own a crystal ball, so I can’t say, but he’s going to make himself better.

IMO this is the best thing for him. I know most of the antics are all a character but dude puts in the work, has insane talent & at face value is doing extremely well. Losing by that much time will either make or break someone, in which I believe with him it will only motivate him more. Didn't he struggle at first in the 250's?
