Well I’ve got as good as a test can be comparing the 2004 steel frame to the newest aluminum chassis. Both engine are the same and the suspension is done by the same guy. We’ll have to see which one I like better.

No, I usually prefer my bikes to be quieter than louder. Not much torque/hp lost in using a Turbine Core vs 304 tbh. Also, even with the turbine core, this bike fucking RIPS. It's a 265cc, and with the pipe and RAD valve.. jesus lahd hep me.

Dual compound seals showed up today, awesome seals. They are really good at reducing friction. Gives a little more sensitivity to the fork for low Speed stuff.

While waiting on the suspension parts, I‘m swapping the stock exhaust studs for titanium ones, it all adds up in the end. 😊

Once I got it rideable, modifications began. During my Time in TZ I made friends with a couple of guys that did a bit of riding and ended up servicing 2 Honda Xr250 MD30. During the process I learned alot about the bike. Especially what the differences between the different XR250 Models out there are. The Japanese model is basically a complete different bike. They only share the letters XR that's it. I started reducing weight where I could with carbon fiber and Titanium, and aluminium. I got an XR400 Alloy subframe and costume welded the brackets for the batterie box. The XR400 Subframe will fit the 250R without any modifications. Just this AS-alloy Subframe needs to be modified a bit to fit the 250. But there's no welding included to get this done, just removing some material. So around this point I started to ask myself if I really wanted to build this bike back exactly like it was. I really want to ride it rather than make it a garage queen so I am veering off from building it back to OG YOT form. For example, I'm a big fan of Honda front brakes. They just feel better than the Yamaha calipers and Master cylinders. Honda's Nissin components are lighter than Yamaha's as well. The Levers they used were those ARC unbreakable type. It's way overdue, but I'm finally getting around to providing a build update. I actually finished the bike last spring, but I was so burnt out on the whole deal I haven't had the motivation to make a good post about it. As with my previous posts I hope to provide as much useful information as I can. Let's start with color matching of powdercoat, plastics, etc. I looked around and agonized quite a bit over this before making my decision.
