I don't know how much you've been on social media lately, but HD has a massive, radicalized branch of his fanbase which is completetly unhinged and will go nuclear the moment someone looks at him funny. A textbook example of this was during the 'claim-gate' saga; Brennan Schofield wasn't a professional athlete, he was an honest kid from Nova Scotia, racing LLs on his own terms and wasn't any threat to HD, yet Brennan had to comb through hundreds of harassment...

This is what always baffles me when they call him far left. He's about the clearest cut example of a centrist there is, he's an entrepreneur who advocates for hustling/doing unpaid work/living in a van until you can seize opportunity when it presents itself, lives in the national capitol of capitalism/consumerism, and holds some socially liberal views. If that's not the middle, what is?

It's very depressing watching the United States tear itself apart with political division. The internet and social media is driving people to the extremes of the left and the right and consequently Americans are forgetting all that binds them together and all the values they actually share. It's saddening to watch.
