braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Neken handlebars
12/17/2023 1:01pm I've ran the regular fat bars on my yz250 and feel like they're on par with everything else in it's price range. I haven't used or had a set of their "smooth feeling" ones but have felt that the quality of their bars and grips has been more then fair for their price. The only concern I would have for...

braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Best bladder kit for KTM shock?
12/16/2023 6:31pm With a bladder kit, we've found shocks run up to 100 degrees cooler on the linkage bikes, it reduces thermal breakdown for the oil, reduces the single highest friction point in the shock, it makes them more progressive, requires fewer tools to service them, and they look cool. If they want any or all of those characteristics, it can be...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Welding rim cracks
12/16/2023 6:10pm Because rims, at least modern rims, are in fact heat treated. I pass Pro-wheel going to/from my shop almost every day and have talked to them about why rims crack and why we can't weld them when we have brought in cracked rims for warranty replacements, to which they have told us that the heat treating is the problem and...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Best bladder kit for KTM shock?
12/16/2023 4:54pm If you're up for importing one, krooztune makes a really nice one. They aren't the cheapest but the fit and finish is excellent. I use their bladder kits on the ktm/husky/gas gas 65 mod bikes that we build, as we don't do enough to justify doing a whole production run of them (as AMA stock class rules no longer allow...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Best suspension shipping method
12/14/2023 7:02am Flambeau rifle case #6451SC-1 will fit both forks and a shock with the exception of ones with a sideways reservoir (like certain year yz's and crf's) and are $19 at Walmart. As far as shipping goes USPS has the lowest theft rate of firearms and are actually handled with great care if you send it in a rifle case, along...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to 2007 YZ250
12/11/2023 6:51am I am definitely a fan of their tusk parts, as I rarely ever feel I didn't get my moneys worth with them. As far as the LEXX pipe goes, the fit and finish was great but do feel that it's more just a shiny stock pipe then anything else. The pipe it replaced was absolutely smoked, so I was more...
braaap_n_pew Started a new thread 2007 YZ250
12/11/2023 4:00am This was originally one our test bikes, then ran by my brother on the rock river team for years, then back to a test bike again before breathing new life back into it. A lot has happened to it over those 15 years and most of it has been replaced along the way but for the most part, it was...

braaap_n_pew Added a reply to T-handle vs. ratchet
12/11/2023 3:10am The advantage most aren't talking about here is when you're a tech doing trackside support or working at the races, it's incredibly hard to just drop and loose T handle, compared to a regular 6mm or 8mm socket that can fall off the table/bench/tray and disappear into the void. I still have complete T handle sets that are over 15...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Ford Transit Dually or Single Rear Wheel?
12/11/2023 2:53am If it's personally used, a dually is going to give you the best ride quality if you build out interior and tow with it. if you're going to also use it for a small business, if you have one and want to also use it for that and write it off, call your insurance company and see what the rate...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to KTM left side Crank Seal replacement
12/10/2023 2:01pm I'm not sure if you can or not on your specific bike but if it's one of the bikes you can, order a Lisle seal puller #58430 for $17 and then you don't have to worry about sending a wood screw or self tapper into a case or if any shavings came off the steel liner in the seal and...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Suspension coating durability?
12/9/2023 5:16am This is actually a Richter Precision problem we've been seeing for a while now. They're one of the few places that does colored PVD coatings for a "reasonable price" and won't deal with the public, just businesses, so they're popular in the suspension industry for the rainbow, blue, green and violet tubes. For probably the past year we've been seeing...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Forks Twisting without falling off
12/9/2023 4:20am If your fork tubes are straight and nothing is bent or damaged, this problem can happen when the oil heights in each fork are vastly different. If one leg has been ran long enough with a leaky seal or if only one fork leg was rebuilt and had a largely different oil volume put in it, it can change end...
braaap_n_pew Added a reply to Welding rim cracks
12/8/2023 4:33am You can weld them BUT YOU SHOULD NOT. The problem isn't the alloy and there's not particularly special about aluminum rims but the problem comes from the fact they are heat treated AFTER they are hooped and welded at the factory. Welding previously heat treated structural parts without re-heat treating them makes the weld just put down to fix that...
