But the larger point is that there is a budget option that is already available in the US and is priced within a stone's throw of the Kove. It is proven reliable and competitive. And it has very poor sales that are based mostly on brand loyalty. So at least in the US, lack of an entry-level option doesn't seem to be the major driving marketplace force.

That was my first real MX bike. I guess I didn't know better but I loved it. Yes it had a peaky engine but I didn't think it was so bad. Won a lot of trophies with that bike.

Consequences don't totally eliminate crime but it's a bizarre take to think there's no correlation between lack of consequences and crime. Even if it's only because the same small number of people commit most of the crime, if those people spend more time locked up, there's less of them free to commit more crime. No developed society is going to start mutilating people, but the number of violent crimes you get to commit before you rot and die in prison is a very small number IMO. I gotta wonder what the “people over property” folks will do when some dirtbag walks into their pits at the races and starts pushing one of their bikes away. Any answer other than “help yourself mr bike thief” is counter to the “people over property” thinking. Where do they draw the line? Is stealing their catalytic converter ok? Food? Bikes, cars, mortgage theft? Does insurance make theft ok, because it makes your loss into everyone’s loss? Yup. I always wonder about people who defend criminals. Why would anyone want a world where theft (or worse) is acceptable? And if you don’t want crime, you have to be willing to punish people who engage in crimes. Even if it makes you uncomfortable.

At the risk of sounding like a barbarian, I don't value anyone's life, and don't expect anyone to value mine except myself. There are 8 billion people on this planet, and it costs literally nothing to make a human. We are one of the most easily expendable and replaceable resources on the planet.
