NorCal is awesome except for cost of living. There are a lot of tracks in the Sacramento area (I can think of 5 public tracks), many nearby options for non-moto fitness work (MTB especially), and SoCal isn't that far away. All down the Valley are tracks too - Diablo, Oatfield, Club Moto, DT-1 MX Park, and more. The OTHG has 4 CA chapters and run a 10 month series that's really well managed. The Sierras have lots of trail riding if that's your thing. You can ride street all year too - weather is good enough. Traffic sucks in most...

We use to ride back there all the time as kids. Go clear from elk river to redwood acres. They put a stop to all of that now though.

If you still want to use it as a backup, get some fiberglass resin, use foil tape to surround the damage and fill the area with just enough epoxy to patch the hole. It will, at a minimum, bond all those loose fibers with the shell again and reduce the likelihood that crack acts as a stress riser.

95% of us have no feel for what the bike is doing whatsoever...so it doesn’t even matter. You might be the 5%....but unless you are a pro rider or professional test rider, probably not. I always chuckle when “Johnny C class” has a long debate over which brand/size/tread pattern of tires to buy, or if he should run 12 lbs or 13 lbs psi in his front tire, or if that FmF pipe is better than pro circuit...reality is, that dude has no clue what the bike is doing, isn’t riding fast enough for performance flaws in either option to...
