I'm not sure you could have drawn a worse comparison as Japan does nearly everything Republicans are against; they tax at a higher rate, they have universal healthcare, there is a major emphasis on higher education ( of which most is funded by the government), they have lower wealth disparity, and the general tone amongst the people is the importance of the collective over the individual which, among many other things, can be seen through their incredibly intricate and well functioning transportation system. What I don't get by a lot of the comments is that somehow a person working on US soil, assigned a tax number, paying taxes, checking in with ICE and following the protocol appointed to them while they wait to obtain their legal paperwork somehow is negatively affecting you? Rather they continue to work and exist as they have been for years as they wait for their legal paperwork, the better option is to deport and/or send them to slave prisons rather than offer them amnesty? A lot of these people are now married to Americans and have American children...

Did they come into the country illegally and have now decided to try and get legal status? If that’s the case, you don’t get to break the law, then apply while you’re still here illegally and act like everything should be ok. Edit: this is a legit question. I’m not trying to be an ass, just trying to understand better.

By sending in the national guard(illegally without the governor’s permission) and the marines (illegal without invoking the insurrection act) they’re abusing power even more. Your “law and order” requires the government to follow the law. It is not doing so. Hence the protests.
