So who offered DW15 a factory ride a couple of days ago? Triumph would be my guess.

I'm not hating on the guy but definitely sounded a little slow and confused. I know it's been a while, so rust is expected, but this sounded more like he was medicated, or had a few drinks.

Yes the bottom of the upper fork, right by the seal appears to be making contact with the plastic fork guard. Essentially striking it with every compression of the suspension. I'm not sure what you mean by metal straps reinforcing the fork guard. I can't find anything by searching the forum, or Dr Google. Any links?

2024 CRF450R under 2 hours on the meter and the stock right fork leg protector snapped off at the three allen bolt retainers. We had installed a Scar Racing holeshot button- it doesn't seem to be much different in profile to any of the other common options. It is set deeeep however. Ordered polisport replacements- they are hanging on, but...

Are these just open MX rides or is racing involved? Suspension (I stuck with the air forks, I actually like them), tires, and seat time.

That bike doesn’t “need” spring forks, especially if you’re riding 2-4 times a month. Honestly, it doesn’t really need anything, but if you’re fishing for the best mods… Tires (the maxxis aren’t great), ethanol free fuel (to keep things clean while the bike sits), and maybe a bar pad because the GG pad is basically non existent. IMO, a vortex by xpr/twisted is the best bang for your buck, but it’s not cheap, and it’s not necessary.

The fact that Starks tagline/slogan for this bike isn’t “Ride the Lightning” proves they are amateurs and not ready for the big stage.

If it were "just another console game" I would've turned it down along with the other 20 or so projects who have approached me. This is a hyper-realistic simulator that will have assists to help the general player. But the core realistic physics and competition is THE focus of the game.

Any gain I can make from a clamp change can easily be beaten by some deliberate practice toward fixing some bad technique and more time at the gym. I typically buy a bike that handles good enough and just do some chassis setup and suspension tuning. Flex in things like clamps and engine mounts is outside of my considerations for the 40+ class. I do have some special clamps on my old KX500 to adapt modern forks and improve the handling via 1mm offset change. Those old bikes are easy to improve with small geometry changes to bring them closer...
