Instead of talking about what i did to it. I’ll tell you why I did it.

Growing up in the 80’s as you know the 500cc class was the top tier class. As a kid all I could do is dream and wish that I had one. I joined the Army at 19 and served for 24 years. Threw those years I subscribed to magazines and could only dream of riding/racing due to military work load and family life. Even though bikes changed and became more modern all I wanted still was a old KX500 to ride and race. Once I got out of the Army I found this bike in TX and took a road trip with my wife to pick it up. I worked on it slowly for over 3 years making it as rideable as I could while trying to keep it as original looking at the same time. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot along the way.

After riding it this weekend for the first time I can say it turned out better than I expected. Right now I plan on this bike being the main bike that I will race full time.
