I wonder if he is doing the full season (full SX East, 250MX), I read that he was only doing select rounds of SX. Always hard to know with Hsu, sometimes announces plans then is nowhere to be seen at gate drop.

There are decent paying motorsports gigs (Super Formula, GT racing, Superbike & MX championships, etc.) domestically in Japan which don't require racers/riders to move abroad and learn a new language/culture. That alone dissuades most from pursuing something abroad. Only ones that are supported (by the OEMs/sponsorships, etc.) and have that curiosity/drive to succeed outside of Japan will proactively make the move...

On the most recent PulpMX show Matthes stated there was a shoot-out for an additional 250 seat at PC and rumor is Shimoda got it.

When he was coming out of amateurs, weren't Honda and Kawi both in hot pursuit of his services? Wonder if Kawi inquired about him before they finalized their roster for '21.

What does Coldenhoff's latest injury mean for his prospects? I can't see Yamaha wanting to take a risk without seeing his recovery and if he will be the same rider he has been the last year or so.

I really wonder what his issues are since his departure from factory Suzuki. Are his handlers (Manager/Agent, etc.) giving him bad direction/advice or is it something about his personality (flakey, difficult to work with, etc.)? He's sabotaged his own career.

His career is basically over now, isn't it? Tends to get injured a lot, plus early exits from two teams (BUD and Suzuki) I don't think help his image with other teams looking to sign riders. Sad, he was the next big thing in Europe at one point.
