And no Klay Thompson hadn't been prossecuted yet either, but he apologized the next night, in public.

Sorry, that thought ran through my brain when I was replying to you. The Yamaha info was rumor from some industry people I know, may or may not be reliable. So you think he has the leverage to keep them from suspending him? It would seem natural that he would keep his points.

The terminology of "impersonating a police officer" for pulling people over with lights is similar to becoming a registered "sex offender" for taking a piss off your back porch and having the cop spot it (happened in my hometown a few years ago).

I really feel bad for James with this whole deal and I hope he can have some good races and put it to rest.

Wow that is pretty fucked up.

I don't feel all bad for him, but I do think the potential punishment is a bit much in this case. I don't think he should have a felony with him for the rest of his life based on the evidence thus far.

Yeah, some dude was taking a piss off his back porch next to a vacant park the city was wanting to remodel. Unfortunately, the city council members were there, along with some police officers. Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time... Now he's a registered sex offender for being an outdoor piss taker.

x2! But, he's not had his day in court yet and I have a feeling both people will have the charges reduced. At least I hope because I agree that even though the police see this as serious, I really doubt James thought he was doing something that could land him a felony if caught. Granted, maybe he should have but I don't think he did. He doesn't seem like a trouble-maker to me (except when going into corners on dirt).

Turned out to be the wrong idiots to do that to, although I would bet that the off duty cops in their personal vehicle were screwing around to begin with.

Quite a bit different than "impersonating an officer". It's not any different than what every volunteer firefighter does every day around the country.

Again, this is totally blown out of proportion. We have all fucked up, sometimes we get caught, sometimes we don't, but we often learn by our mistakes which I'm sure Stew will as well.

Shouldn't we admire him for being such a talented rider, and not as a person that provides ethical or moral guidance? if we want that, we should know there are way better places than the supercross series?

If you shave of that facade shaped by PR and new found money that makes them buy expensive toys and outfits you will just find a bunch of insecure home schooled kids that are still under the progress of growing up.

He is under the eye of a lot of media outlets down here in Florida and also many other media outlets have covered his arrest story.If he goes out there and wins this weekend in Dallas I hope and would assume some of those same media outlets will cover his results in their sports section (it is news worthy for them if he wins).
If he doesn't win,I would assume it wouldn't be all that news worthy to them.

Not to mention him making news all over,may draw in more viewers/fans/Channel surfers/Etc. on CBS (a major network) on Sunday who are curious.....

I follow the TV news & some of their sites.

He is under the eye of a lot of media outlets down here in Florida and also many other media outlets have covered his arrest story.If he goes out there and wins this weekend in Dallas I hope and would assume some of those same media outlets will cover his results in their sports section (it is news worthy for them if he wins).
If he doesn't win,I would assume it wouldn't be all that news worthy to them.

Not to mention him making news all over,may draw in more viewers/fans/Channel surfers/Etc. on CBS (a major network) on Sunday who are curious.....
So IMO I think a win would be Epic this weekend. Wink
Also with the week he has had,I'm sure a win would be a good way to end it.
Epic would be if he won every race and managed to win the title. EPIC is a big word.
