I was one of the most dominate racers in California. I won everything.
That's actually impressive, kudos. I'm still going to bust your balls though.

And now you're here making the MX community facepalm. The rest of the world is right, American kids do rank 1st when it comes to self confidence.

This is the "main" class. The age group in this is around 13-15 years old. The class I raced was probably a second slower than these but the age group was around 9-10 years old.

Man Broc had so much talent. I think if he could have stayed off the ground he would have some titles by now. He had the potential to be right with guys like Trey and Dungey right now IMO.

Screw you, asshole. The kid said, "He barely won anything as an amateur." Davis is still trying to justify what he said when he was clearly talking out his ass like he normally does. Davis never said anything about hype initially. He said he barely won, when in fact Hepler was a factory Suzuki rider winning amateur nationals for years.

Wow guys, sorry I wasn't into motocross when Hepler was an amateur. When I got back into the sport it was around 2004 and I knew Mike Alessi and Davi Millsaps were the hyped up amateurs, but I didn't even know who Broc Hepler was and he got 2nd in his first pro race and kept Stewart honest, I remember opening up Cycle News and seeing a picture of them both side by side and since that day I've been a fan of Broc.
Hepler regularly beat Davi in A class, they were both on Cole gress's AM Suzuki team and both were highly touted.

Interesting argument style. Admit that you know nothing about the subject matter, but hold steadfast to your position.

I was doing a google search of Hepler and ran across this article from 2002:

2002 US Open Results

Check out the names in the 85cc class!

I take it back. You just took a perfectly good Broc Hepler thread and tried to make it about you. Pavement racing is for pussies. Better put on a jock strap because I'm going back to using your nuts as a speedbag.

If you weren't around the sport when Broc was an amateur and turned pro then you don't have a valid point in your claims... you even said you dont know what youre talking about, so stfu!

I met him in Vegas one time at dinner, my friend knew him so he said "Broc, meet the Davis family!". Broc's really shy and got embarrassed more than my family did! I've always liked Broc, wish he couldn't have gotton hurt so much. He barely won anything as an amateur and if not for Stewart he could have won both titles in his rookie season.

You take a good post about Hepler and try to turn it into a post about some little shit racing 1/4 midgets, you're fucking pathetic.

ddavis, stfu.

one post you're telling the world how he didn't do much in the amateurs, the next you say you don't know anything about his amateur career, and the next you turn a Broc Hepler thread around and make it about your lame ass go-kart racing. just stfu. please and thank you.

EDIT:

after watching the video, i can proudly say that was the gayest video i've ever seen on the pages of vital. even gayer than the Double Rainbow Guy video.

Great stuff, Broc is a great racer, to bad he got hurt so many times. Does anyone have a photo of the advertisement with his injuried hand/glove bloodied up with his dad working on the bike........That was pure motoX family style.........

Bottom line , he had moments of brilliance but could have had a whole lot more without the injuries.

Hepler was such an unknown when he made his professional debut that Racer X followed him around all day and did a feature story on it for their magazine.

Hepler was solid. The kid is top shelf like Short , Canard and Mike Alessi. Hepler has a future outside of this sport. 99% of the guys racing right now won't be able to say that.

No one on that starting line today had an amateur career as good as JS7 or MA800! Who cares about amateur careers!! The only thing that matters once you reach the pro level is how you race at the pro level! Guys don't get factory rides because they won the C class at Loretta's!
McGrath won the C class at lorettas!

If you dudes remember it was Broc and Millsaps that were both Suzuki riders and one was East the other West and they seemed on the same career path and had similar speed. It is a shame what injuries can do to your career ;(
