I thought there was supposed to be an announcement today?

Might as well have a “reveal party” at press day before A-1…

Sexton if my favorite rider. In saying that if was a team owner I would hire Sexton on a low base salary with an extremely high bonus program. Make it so he has to earn his worth as one of the top riders in the sport by his results.

Chase has had a history of stalling bikes in corners.
Also, can a 2017 Suzuki  be any better than a 2027 Kawi?

Will Chase run a rekluse?

Is he testing multiple bikes and exploring team options before settling? TELL US!

I don't see how he can truly test whatever bike he is going to ride before signing.  No way he is/will be up to top speed by mid November.  A bike might feel great at 85-90% of his speed, But not great at all at 100% of his speed.

I’m shocked that dirt bike development is so incremental that a 2017 can compete with a 2027.

How much better do we really need these bikes to be though?

Yes it can. New doesn’t always equal better. A lot to be said for consistency and predictability. Wherever Chase goes I want to see him comfy, because he def has something for the hunter brothers and everyone else when he’s on.

I thought suspension would be more advanced by now. At the professional level, a works bike from 10 years ago should not be on par with current works bikes.

He signs with Suzukis new Factory effort for MXGP to get seat time on the bike, allowing Kenny to ride off into the sunset with his year long #1 goodbye tour. Then he comes in with all the testing and confidence in the world come 2028, he’s at A1 with a replica of Greg Albertyn’s Bieffe gear, AStars branded of course. I can see it now…

He comes back speaking two or three languages and not wearing deodorant. Holding cigarettes funny....

Sure you haven’t got a hand in this strategy @ML512 ?
Sexton’s situation seems to be solely responsible for increasing Vital off season traffic 😂

Model development is really only happening in order to sell you a new model.

It’s having less of an effect on the pro riders, because whether they are riding a 2018 bike or a 2026 bike, their options with linkages, forks, shocks, clamps, and countless other components allows them to tune it to their preferences.

The pros can have what they want, when they want it- they don’t need new models, the manufacturers need new models in order to make sales.

Suspension technology hasn't changed in 25 years, refined yes, but it's the same technology from the early 2000s.

in listening to Track Talkers latest pod (which side note was pretty hilarious, was my first listen, thought the 722 and uncle Ty were unexpectedly funny) but also those 2 definitely know that Sexton is most likely going to PMG, they played the neutral game just enough to where its not too obvious but it still was kinda obvious...Barcia and Ando wont be around forever, neither is Kenny - It makes sense from a future standpoint and gives PMG a step into becoming a fully fledged top factory team and not some cobbled together deal where they are technically factory but kinda not. I think its also the best move for Chase. Quadlock Honda is a good bike but until Lawrence bro's retire Honda wont ever need another top guy and I cant see them allowing Sexton to be so good on a satellite Honda that he gives their own team headaches. Zook needs another Kenny level talent and Chase needs a well setup bike - I think its just logical they join forces.

chase going to ride a kick start bike? I dont see that happening. The time he would give up after a tip over, just dont see it. I know they are testing an electric start, but not currently in the cards. So I say a hard no on yellow, imo

It’s actually genius on Chase’s part…

wait, I changed my mind. He is definitely going yellow. Look at his ig story, he all but says it. Or a major troll job! lol

What did I miss? I see a concept 2 and some stats. Is it the part about winning on a 4th brand? That could be also be Husky or Yamaha along with Suzuki.

Kevin windham was on factory equipment and had his own staff of honda employees/ mechanics supporting him at factory connection. I dont see why Honda wouldnt give a similar deal to Chase not mention hes already won titles and can still win. But the 27 bike would be a wrench in the plan being all new and having limited parts.

the PMG idea makes sense. Roczen, if he sticks around isnt doing more than supercross  and with Barcia and Anderson, id say they all got maybe 2 years left if in the tank assuming they go injury free. Chase would be the number 1 rider and would have the same bike through 2028 at least

is this allowed to be discussed? I am surprised that the British guy hasn't flagged this post yet and had it shut down...

Suzuki is Chase's only option. You think KTM or any other of the big manufs other than Suzuki will give him factory parts or support? No way. Doesn't matter who he rides for...Suzuki is the only brand he can still get some factory support. No other factory/manuf is giving him parts. I'd say it's 90% yellow or he doesn't even ride next year.

ive ridden a 24 kx450 and an 07 crf450r cab recently. they have different feels based on suspension and frame design, but i went just as fast on either bike, and honestly i felt more at home on the 07. to me the only difference is the crispier delivery of efi.

I'm surprised we haven't seen something or a pic yet. Look at Andos bike he is the one testing it.

And even if the suspension tech had evolved significantly since the Zook was released, Pipes is still getting the best stuff the suspension manufacturers are currently making.

I will respectfully disagree with you on this.

Chase cannot negotiate a large salary at this point and will have to settle for a large finish 'bonus only' contract in '27.  This makes him a bargain for any team to sign.

Yamaha likes to have three riders as insurance against injuries, as does KTM.  Bobby Regan has stated he's trying to hire Chase.

Husqvarna needs another top tier rider on their bike.

Honda likes to have strong support teams.  What happens if both Lawrences were to be injured?

Still a lot to be figured out yet this year.
