Is it the bike? Competition is stiff with the top 5.  Even Jett loses.

Chase is not a consistent 1 or 2 rider.

Neither will Deegs, Jett, Hunter etc.

Whilst Chase will dwell on it & blame everyone and everything except himself, getting in his own head and hindering his chances on the following weeks.

Chase could’ve ridden that Kawasaki to top four or five results all year and everyone would’ve considered it a valuable year learning the new bike. Instead he let it boil his brain, kill his confidence, destroy the relationship with the team and his year went to shit,

Very well said.

This is what I've been saying all season. He did the same in year 1 when he struggled on the KTM indoors. Dude won 8 races in year two and almost the title and still thought the grass was greener elsewhere. This isn't the bike. It's hopping around looking for a fit that doesn't exist when he would be better served by just putting in the time to feel comfortable on the bike. There's a lot to be said about knowing the bad things a bike does and how to work around it. That's verbatim what Kenny said he had to figure out and finally did on the Zook.

i agree with this, it seems that Prado did this last year when he got back on the ktm, just logged heaps of laps iwth out touching anything,

Now we’re just waiting on ride videos. He’ll probably be on the bike in the next week or so. Will he be on the ‘27?

"Will he be on the ‘27?"

It looks like you had a typo...

Will he be on the 327?

100%. Eli and Kenny both had major injuries. They recovered and came back, put in the work and became champions.

I like Chase and want to see him in the mix, battling with the leaders. But I just don't think he's mentally as strong as the other riders. Look at KR. When he went to Suzuki, the bike and their program was not good. But he was determined to find a winning set up, along with the team. That's how a true proffesional does it. You never heard him bad mouth his team. He just put his head down and figured it out. And unlike Sexton, he used the word "we" a lot when discussing their efforts.

Afterall, thats what they get paid to do. Chase could take a lesson from that.

I agree with this,  he has bounced back from past injuries just fine.  I mean he broke his femur in one of his first 250 sx races.

Also how many would be out roadbiking today in 49 degree weather in the middle of no where in Illinois.

What’s crazy about this is it took Kenny a long time to win the sx title. Kenny was probably the fastest guy in his rmz days but dungey won. Could that be from a mental weakness? Possibly? How about when Webb ran him down last lap all year that one year? It just depends how you spin it but I’d say Kenny is about 3 titles short of where his potential is. I’d say Chase is about 1 (maybe 2) short? As of now. But he’s got some time left.

Mental strength comes from suffering & overcoming adversity. Now that Kenny went through everything he’s just got a way better perspective it seems like. Sure he’s mentally solid now but that’s not always been the case. Maybe Chase can turn this adversity into a strength like Kenny did. Maybe not.

8 4 1 5 7 5 6 2 22 4 4 7 5 1 6 7

Those are his results on a kawi before it shut off and ended his season. He missed 3 rounds of SX and finished 6th in points.

He already did exactly what you're saying he should have done except he didn't just shut up and thank the sponsors afterwards. People confuse his refusal to accept a shit bike with not trying or holding up his end of the bargain and it's not at all fair to him.

This rewriting of history is hilarious. Nobody had anything good to say about Kenny when he left Honda. Many of the same criticisms chase is getting now. What could have been, never happy, head case, etc etc etc..... everyone thought he was either crazy or had burned every bridge when he went to Suzuki. Now you say he was determined to find a winning setup. You weren't saying that at the time. Maybe chase is just as determined to find a winning setup right now?

What Chase didn’t do is give a positive impression to us, the public.
It all seemed doom and gloom in interviews.

First year KTM 450 supercross results 3 1 8 5 2 9 6 3 4 3 2 5 2 22 2 1

Both first year finishing averages were 5 point something, so really, nothing different on the Kawasaki. Year 2 on the KTM was a different story, producing much better results.

Agreed, also the part of going to zook and it being a bad bike and team. Ya know he chose hep over other options because of the test ride on the zook…

Yep, and the bike...and the solidity of the team, management & their flexibility might be a great choice for Sexton. My gut says he's staying put though. All about the Benjamins...

I heard that and assumed it was Savatgy, hence the delay with Ducati. 🤷‍♂️

Webb, like Sexton, hated the KTM's suspension and wanted off. Now a few years later he's on a Husky and with no practice whatsoever looked amazing at MXoN and Fastcross. Maybe Sexton needs back on an Austrian bike.

Wasn't Webb's Husky running KYB at MXoN?

seems strange Sexton's dad is not mentioned in any of this? He was a regular participant as an intermediary supposedly detailing Chase's requests on bike setup and appearing to share some of the thinking between rider and team. Some people thought it should be directly between rider and team without dad in the middle.

A Husky NOT on WP suspension.

Sounds awfully familiar…

Just my opinion but don't think that is a fair comparison. What KR had to come back from was on a whole different level.. Not only the really bad injury but all the problems related to it down the road of what little bit was actually put out there. Beyond the physical challenges don't see how anyone wouldn't have been effected mentally as well.
