Not to get political in anyway, But anyone that recently visited France for the MXON, Is what we are seeing over there as bad as the media shows? Just seeing how excited the crowd was at MXON hard to think anything is going on in France.
I was just in France, things were fine. Typical US media bias BS
I was in france for 4 days & didnt notice anything!
We were there for 5 days and did not see any protests, but driving into Paris on Monday afternoon we saw several waves of swat vehicles heading both into and away from central Paris. I assumed they were responding to something, but I have no idea if any actual riots were happening around that time.
Probably depends where you are. France is a large country.

My folks went to the nations this year and spent all last week in Paris. Other than being cranky boomers about culture and food they said nothing was too amiss.
After MXON we went to Paris for five days as I wanted to show my daughters Louvre, Versailles, Eiffel tower and all the regular stuff. On Tuesday night when we stepped out of metro while heading to our Airbnb our eyes started to water. I told thd kids it’s probably just the tires of metro (they use rubber there) smelling, but when we rised to ground surface we noticed that there was a protest going on. The place was ercircled by police with riot gear & vechiles and the smell was because of tear gas had been used there. It didn’t feel scary or anything, but maybe it was because we just came from MXON and the people at the prostest were mostly young students and they weren’t even seemingly drunk or waving chainsaws. We filmed some videos and walked past the police to our Airbnb just 100 feet from the police line. Later we went for dinner and all the restaurants and terraces were open and people were eating there just next to police line. Also the place was mostly cleaned up next day although some store windows were still broken. Sometimes things look horrible in news and social media, but in reality you barely notice things like riots or wild fires in big cities like Paris, LA or similar if you don’t end up right in the middle of action.
Complaining about food and culture in France, how??
High schools students are on strike for various reasons, including some very legitimate ones, and as usual here on every kind of street protest, are joined and overshadowed by guys who don't give a f*** about school and are only there to break, burn, destroy whatever they can find and have a good brawl with the cops -who often end up losing their cool a little bit...
MMA turned protests, the typical french social negociation. It can happen at night in Ernée's campground too...
Oh, and of course, as you can guess, six months before the election of a new president, some politics are veeeery supportive of the protest move -in a very selfless way, of course, not a trace of spilling gas on the fire. 😏
The weather can change fast: millions of people seemed crazy ecstatic about Céline Dion and pope Leo, and a few days later, teenagers and cops were at it, not exactly singing Kumbaya...
Right outside our door

I’m convinced that most of the reporting of these things is sensationalized. Not all of it, of course, but most of it. News outlets, whether mainstream or ‘new media’, rely on entertaining viewers, readers, or listeners. Society loves big conflict, so naturally those doing the reporting are rewarded for making it seem like any conflict is greater than it is.
Everybody believe our national sport is soccer. It's actually striking.
I'd say complaining -even without strikes or protests.
Similar to when the Euros came to the States for the World Cup.
Something about glass houses and bricks, something something
I'm not sure you realise what the rest of the world sees about the US and it's current fusterclucks
moto related???
He isnt throwing bricks by just being curious what is going on in france is he?
That’s why he was asking. I was wondering the same thing. We just wanted to hear from our moto friends in France because we trust that way more than any news we get here. But it’s good to hear it was nothing. Seems like the same here with the news. They want to keep us fired up.
Pit Row
What are they protesting about? Not too long ago, there were legitimate protests from workers because of the PM cutting their retirement.
Global lack of teachers, no replacement teachers when one is missing, too many students by class, unsuitable timetables, damaged buildings, lack of chairs in the classrooms, not enough time for lunch, missing toilet paper and first of all, not being heard.
I sure wouldn't say it's "nothing". Like in many occidental countries, for good and bad reasons, the French are not happy with the way their lives are going.
Yeah it’s REALLY bad in Europe. People are breaking into Capital buildings, immigration police killing people, dictators ruling, gas prices through the roof. Oh wait…
I think the Netherlands are doing waaaay better than France, right now.
"Honestly, the shit talking about the USA is so nauseating at this point, it's just old and stale. Ok, you hate us, ok then. 🤷♂️ We don't care. Have a nice day. GFY
Slapaho" 🤣
I would not go near Paris that’s for sure.
The protests should not be the reason why you would not to go to Paris. As I posted earlier, you can go to Paris and you won't even notice there are any protests going on. I was there with my three teenage daughters and we used metro, trains and buses to go everywhere even late at night and had no trouble what so ever. The news and social media make it look like there is war going on for the sake of clicks and views. Of course if you have other reasons not to go to Paris, that's ok 😀
If I had to choose between experiencing a protest in Paris or Atlanta/Philly/Baltimore, I'm speaking French every time🤣
All the ones posting nothing to see here lol ,are the same ones who walk right by needle discarded waste, homeless encampments, and community unrest in their own cities then go home to there gated communities . France has fallen
The French know how to protest, that’s for sure. Their food is dog shit though.
Also, how small does OP think France is?
You’ve got to stop watching “the news”.
