If you’re referring to Jeff Crutcher in this comment, that’s pretty fucked up considering his current situation. If anyone loves to ride and help racing in general, it’s him.
It’s a too much of a good thing deal. Back in the 90s or 2000s we hung on to every word or clip we could get. These days you really do have to limit what content you consume so it doesn’t feel overbearing. For me that looks like just watching the races when they come on and maybe catch a few YouTube clips here and there and of course scrolling vital.
Keeping up with it all would be a full time job now.
Yeah there was an anticipation of getting a cycle news or MXA that made that made the read so enjoyable in the 80's. You didn't get much, so what you got was precious. Now I listen to podcasts on bicycle rides or commuting and hear the same overlapping opinions if I listen to more than one. Hard to find an original thought amongst the multiple media choices. But, outstanding content like Matty's still draws my attention.
Wow that went sideways quick. I think all the guy was saying is that if you wouldn’t say it in person don’t say it online. You can both disagree with something or someone while still giving respect to them and yourself. If everyone could do that things would immediately get better everywhere.

I was thinking about this the other day. Even late 90s I would get behind excited to read my mags (all of them) even though already knew the outcome of the races. Wild to read about something almost two months later. And I miss my buyers guides this time of year.
Nailed it.
Every attenton-seeking dork with an iPhone out there is now a "reporter" and "influencer". Guaranteed few if any even own a dirtbike.
All part of "growing the sport"...... kling-ons trying to be cool kids.
Too much white noise!
I like the people who “report” what has already been reported by someone who actually did the work to get the info. I guess in today’s world this is called an influencer.
You are the problem with fans these days
You like watching the same Mickey Mouse SMX insider shows? Title 24, Bubbas World, AC & JB show, those are all the same talking points, all OWNED BY NBC. It’s nice to hear unbiased podcasts and reporters in the field. And no I’m not talking about that dumbass Cooksey.
exactly . Matt Burkeen uses an iPhone and everyone loves him.
To be completely honest place is filled with total losers. I just post for the good people that view… like the normal people that don’t shit in comments, they just browse and move on.
What does media access at the races have to do with podcasts? Who cannot do a podcast because they have to pay to attend?
FWIW, I don't listen to any of those other than AC/JB sometimes. The Title 24 is a Feld garglefest and RC being fake like he is on the broadcast. I listen to Pulp, Weege, and occasionally Whiskey Throttle or Gypsy depending who they have on.
...Pal, Ive been here for over 20 years. Guys like you (sorry if you are a female, your screen name doesn't indicate if you are a man or woman) come and go, or get banned outright. your cute insults are nothing new for me here.
I don't hide behind a screen name so most members here know who I am and how to find me, so I am respectful to people on this forum even if I never will meet most of them.
Seems like you have been triggered just because of some poor dudes just trying to start a media business..
Without media they cant control they will have you by the balls to pay their monthly fee to watc the races.
It'll all be on Flo soon enough.
I mean Feld is just shooting themselves in the foot with this. They want to quit the shit-post Facebook group coverage but now are pushing out real media coverage, so less real media, more shit,
I’m guessing you’re trying to show their highest viewed video as some symbol of success. That isn’t that high of a view count and the only reason it has 10x the amount of views as the other videos is because it has 38’s name in the title. Click bait for views.
We aren’t really losing much if Twenty Three Media doesn’t go to the races. I don’t think they’re losing much either. I don’t think they were raking in tons of cash from this thing. At one point they were disappointed because their free pizza sponsor dropped them.
Exactly, and if he is actually media, he can get access and pay for being there

The point of this thread is the new 21 page Media Guidelines for 2027 are going to affect a lot. Media companies leaving isn’t a big deal but it’s a sign of what’s to come. I heard they are cracking down on social media & YouTube side of things. It’s understandable if someone posts a full race. But supposedly they are going all in on “protecting their product”. I really hope they don’t remove the old classic races tho! It’s a damn shame we don’t have a Moto Vault to pay and watch old seasons.
Its a tough call, because these guys are monetizing content, that they are not paying for access to.
As an organiser, would you want people making money off your work when they have no dog financially in the fight?
That is what accreditation means, that you are a legit news/publisher to be allowed to gain access to events.
I dont see what is controversial about that .
Our Organiser here tried to do the same 3 or 4 years ago, and it went badly, but honestly, when these people are doing nothing to help promote the event prior, but then spend all day filming, to bang stuff out afterwards , for profit, what do you do.
They will say ' we are promoting the sport', and i get that , to a point but it cant just be a retrospective , it needs up front work, and we only have a handful of content creators here that actually do that.
There is too much Moto Media. And not enough good Moto media.
I have always believed that all press is good press, and those who do a better job of covering the events will get more views thats how the algorithm works. I can see this backfiring on FELD, content creators are creative and they will find ways of covering the races, and with the help of AI they could probably put out content that is better then NBC produces. Then you get into a situation where the fake shit is getting more views then the real shit.
Not only that, but I firmly believe many of the photographers/videographers were selling photos/videos to parties other than the ones they were credentialed with. The fact they don’t own any of what they create, that’s a problem that Feld is doing their best to take care of.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s how I see it.
No one is forcing him out. He says himself that he's stepping away by choice. It sounds like an expensive hobby that started costing too much and was not sustainable. Bummer that it didn't work out but travel is expensive.
Seems like we’re devolving back to the days when we waited hours/days/weeks to find out what happened at the races..
The cost of watching live races will probably increase soon, if that happens it’s time to develop some patience..
