First round of the Australian Supercross Series kicked off last night in Townsville, even though it wasnt a points paying race, holy there was absolute carnage in all the races, the track looker like it was challenging for lots of the riders thats for sure!
Here are the results of SX1 and SX2

That crash was insane!
What happened to Hicks in the second SX2 final, I thought he won? Penalised?
Jumped on Medic flag i read somewhere

Geeezussss.... it's over for anstie and whackadoo....
Anstie wasnt having the best time, sounded arrogant when speaking to announcers on the TV, I wonder how long Cam had on the Honda
anyone try buying the stream though the app? it was horrible to use, and lagged like fuck during the press conference stream so i didnt bother,
It looked like Anstie did out of left corner 1st double of that straight, blue bike in background as they follow Hicks. Maybe before flag so ok?
Hicks says no jumping involved, passed a lapper under the flag while rolling.
He's been docked 5 spots in that race, ending up 3rd OA instead of 1st.
I thought about it after realising it was not on Kayo Freebies this year, but is on 7plus here in Aus for free so watched it on there.
Ill leave the App for now.
We watched it on 7 plus, coverage was awesome but that drone pilot was average
Australia's best moto drone pilot was at AJMX
OMG
Sounds like Cam had 1 day on the Honda, first turn pile up moto 1 and a small crash in Final 2 while running 3rd. He'll be just fine with more time on the Honda lol
So this round doesn't matter or what?
sounds like there will be 2 championships, the AUS X which started last night, and the Australian sx championship which kicks off in New Zealand at the end of the month
Interesting and confusing.
The Australian sx series starts in another country, got it
Pit Row
I enjoyed the racing but man they broadcast was pretty stop and go. The massive time gap between the heats and the mains was painful. My wife left the room, came back some time later and said "oh man still no racing??"
Track looked tough, shame there's no race in SEQ this year. I'm nervous to buy tickets to GC WSX again with all that's going on there.
here in Australia we have a rule certain flags you can't pass even a lapper. The lappers tend to basically stop and look at the down riders. The rider on the lead lap has to stop basically or will be penalized.
Seen instances of a rider pulling over to the side of the track but you still cant pass the lapper
What a joke.
Who decided it was a good idea to start a series the same weekend as MXdN?
You mean a race 10,000 km's away, nearly 2 days' worth of time zones behind?
Im not so sure it effected anything.
motorcycling australia disagrees with you, as they wouldnt put it as part of the Aus SX championship
and some KTM and YAmaha riders didnt go either,
Larwood’s racing the rest of the SX series, and I assume Beaton and Tanti are as well, so it certainly would’ve affected their chances if round one was points paying.
Yeah that one. The one that takes the top 3 aussies and top 3 kiwis* plus team members, industry reps, federation reps, etc. Not to mention the attention from not just australasia but around the world. I follow the sport pretty closely and had no idea this race happened if not for this thread.
*they didn't know the kiwis weren't going to mxdn
Gonna be really interesting to see how the hell this shakes out... Will there be two champs in each class? The promoter champion and the national champion? What a nightmare.
That was also one major reason it wasnt a points paying round so that it wasnt unfair for those who couldn't make it due to MXDN and Jnr Aussies aswell, which is a good move by Bailey and the team, they could've been dicks about it
anyone have a link to watch the race?
looked for it on youtube with no luck.
Used to be on FS1 here in the states but i see nothing now.
