I'm not buying that. Okay, if he sat out the GP's due to (alleged) health issues and mostly the costs, I could understand. But the final round of the British Championship, racing for a British team while you were 2nd in the standings? Nah, there must be more to it.
It was mentioned here that he’s been caught doing PED’s, no idea if that holds any water. Whatever the issue, it’s bound to come out at some point.
I see on the socials that Doeyson & SS24 have parted ways.
First I've read about that. Interesting if true. But as you say, it'll come out if it is true...

So it sounds like Watson is changing teams, focus will be on the British championship and he will do a handful of European GPs + some US nationals (source, one of the Vital MXoN videos).
The positive is that he has a chance of making an impact in America and he might get a full-time gig there like Guillod got. But overall this just confirms my belief that once you go from a full-time GP rider to a part time (Euro rounds only) you will most likely never get back to a full time ride again.
He should've stayed with Beta as a full time rider.
I dont know @Motofinne, he is a professional rider so i think what he should do is look for the combination of best financial opportunity + a decent enjoyment from the work you do. I can imagine doing Brits for a British team suits him better then riding for an italian ''factory'' team that isnt solving that bike to begin with
So the team best placed to do that in the British is the SC Sporthomes Team , who have a US base, and history in the AMA over the past few seasons, although they didnt do any this year , i am guessing as they didnt want to risk Heyman getting hurt.
A headline 450 rider would be good for them.
Which factory team is finally going to sign Pancar? Or is he better off with his own programme? Talking about punching above your weight, he’s the perfect example. In the US, being solid top 5-10 with handful of moto podiums would definitely generate interesting conversations.
The thing is Pancar is not solid top 5 top 10. If you take away the last 3 fly-aways (where we only had like 14 riders) he did 26 sunday motos and had 5 top 10 finishes in those 26 motos, with a best finish of 7th. I can see why a factory team isnt going to offer a big salary for those results, especially seeing how similar riders also dont have a ride.
Add to this that i'm under the impression Pancar gets some nice support from Slovakia (both from companies as well as the government/olympic association). And he must have good support from KTM as well since he is often seen as one of the first to race future models at GPs.
I dont see that happen for Mikula
Watson re-signed with Dirt Store Triumph for 2027. He mentions it here:
https://youtu.be/6Uv5bfvqTek?si=8lK1BHqIgxiYBXTh&t=755
Pancar is from Slovenia.
I don't know his private deals, but I wouldn't be too confident in the support of the government or the national moto association in our country. They do far too little for motocross at the national level.
Seewer on a Star 250 outdoors would be interesting😶
After what we saw in Ernée, it would be logical for Seewer to run the National Outdoor Championship (250cc) in 2027.
It's a shame seewer can't just race mx2 in europe.......the mx2 class would be zo much better without that age limit
Herlings would still be in MX2 if it wasnt for the age limit 😎
Who cares, he smokes every class.
Skovbjerg confirmed for Beddini Ducati MX2. Great move for him.
What kind of financial backing does Beddini have? Their infrastructure looks impressive
Pit Row
Great for Skovbjerg, very much deserved. I hope Ducati can make a step forward because their bike has been a shit box in the 250F class. I believe the Beddini family has a bakery and besides that Cairoli is very much involved and I can imagine the budget available from Ducati must be good.
I dunno if this as been mentioned but Kevin Horgmo is out of Honda SR Motobulze. Nothing confirmed for next year.
Honda SR will be Vlaanderen and Geerts for 2027.
Well at least that explains where the dough comes from.
Seems like the Reisulis bros won't ride for Kemea Yamaha in 2027 (MX2), finally...
God what a mess by Yamaha.
In 2023 they had very strong teams all a the level they should be, with Vosters (MXGP), Kemea (MX2), Hutten (EMX250) and MJC (125), with also van Venrooy in MXGP in 6th with Vlaanderen.
They finished 3rd & 4th in MXGP, 2nd (due to injury of Geerts) in MX2, 1st in EMX250 and 1st in EMX125.
The only reason they were not challenging for titles in MXGP was because they didnt have a superstar rider in MXGP.
They have alienated all those strong teams, went in wrong development routes and now have a superstar rider in MXGP only for him to show the Yamaha is actually the problem.
^ They thought that Renaux would be the superstar. My understanding is that it was main reason why Kemea was promoted to MXGP.
It also tells something that Vosters was able to develop podium bike with Fantic in few seasons when they had all the freedom. Now that they have Ducati people watching over, developement stalls: everything needs approval from the factory.
Mx bikes are not rocket science and know how is pretty much on the field. Directors and organizational politics rarely help in bike developement. Yamaha and Ducati are prime examples.
At the other end is Triumph who hired Chizat-Suzzoni/ Bereni and bunch of other mx greats, provided resources without intervening everything.
The implosion of Yamaha is impressive.
Now, if the Reisulis brothers are out. Who do they ride for in -27? They would be a great fit for KTM but i don't know if they have the budget for two more factory riders?
Seems like they have a contract with Yamaha, but which team will fund/lead the offical Factory program is still a question.
Maybe at van Venrooy? I dont think van Venrooy has announced anyone yet? They had 1 MXGP, 1 MX2 and 1 EMX250 this year, so replacing these 3 spots with 2 MX2 seats seems pretty doable if their budget has stayed the same.
Janis will ride for Factory Ktm Austrian side (mx2) team, together with Simon. Adamo will move to Di Carli side that will become the 450 side together with Renaux.
Karlis will ride for van verooy with factory bike.
Yamaha will not have a 250 factory team
Does this signal the possibility of an end to the MX2/EMX issue where money is being spent for fun, on looking for 'new talent' , without there actually being any teams left to take the riders.
Drastic measures in these tough times, cut travel, cut races, and roll up classes, make EMX something that domestic teams can step up to occasionally, and MX2 a proper series that is Europe only , that doesnt do the fly aways. Add local classes to support those GP's
There is a point where being a sustainable sport has to come first. The materials to race are a small part of the budget, staff, travel and accommodation is where the big bucks vanish.
When F1 tries to save money, the cost of the car used to be 10% of the spend, the rest was staff & R&D and travel, so if you halved the cost of the actual car , it was 5% of the money you used.
We need less races, not more. Everywhere.
