Zx moto are also planning to enter world superbike in 2028.

You’ve got to give it to them they are going all in.

Skyler Howes bombed on stage 1 of the Moroccan Rally today, says the bike is down on power. Then ran out of fuel - as, I think did Ebster, his team mate.

Expect ZXmoto to pull some more horses out of the bag quickly - certainly ahead of Dakar. They have the know-how, I am certain.

Apparently this is ZX' own engine, not the same as Kove.

There is a vast difference between Japanese and Chinese quality. Hence the whinging.

Not 45 years ago. Japanese manufacturing was betting on Americans saving money over the European bikes with their quick to market product. China CAN make quality, they choose to export cheap and in volume. This is copy and paste of 1970's

I think the real winners here are KYB, Showa and Öhlins. Maybe a new company will come to market. Expect these companies to come to market with real solutions across the board.

When the gold rush hit, it wasn't the miners that made it rich. It was the guy that sold the shovel.

Japanese bikes weren’t quality in the 70’s.

The main thing Japanese bikes had going for them in the 70’s was low cost.

. . . and high quality. If China builds a bike that changes the game like Japan did in the 70's it will sell great in the US.

Chinese manufacturing can produce high quality goods.  They can also produce ersatz goods for cheap.
We see almost exclusively ersatz Chinese goods in the US market because the companies importing are doing so to reduce costs.      Or atleast they were doing it to reduce costs, but after 30+ years of chasing the lowest cost, they don't have many other options left.

Not bad. Its $5,949 vs $10,199 for a ktm 250sxf. So damn near half price. He said it feels like a ktm with a honda engine thats a bit slower. People have been asking for entry level mx bikes, this sounds like exactly that. He said if you blindfolded him hed think he was on the older ktm with a bit slower engine, not bad at all.

It would be nice if china entering mx was a positive thing and not a negative where they offer entry level bikes for cheap that are really good but then their pro level bikes competing with the japanese are priced similarly. That way the established brands arent put out of business but at the same time more ppl can ride cuz of the cheaper bikes. Imagine how cheap an 85cc, supermini, 125, or 250 would be too!

I’d like to see a long haul test 60-80 hours or so

My thoughts as well.

Would a Triumph survive a long haul 60-80 hour test?

If you follow Joe Henner (I think that's his last name) on IG or FB, he's had a few of these-types of bikes and did a 60hr engine breakdown on a KOVE 250 about a year ago (same engine as this they say). Looked dialed. No issues. They just did it to dispel any chit-talk. Remember when PING wrote that article for Racer X about 12-15yrs ago about riding/testing a Chinese bike? It barely made it up the hills of GH. Now they are producing this level with no signs of slowing down (with entering World level events across the board). Chinese culture is an admirable one if you understand it....they don't stop developing.

Just because they don’t stop developing, doesn’t mean what they’re developing is good or durable.

An exception and not the rule. It’s laughable to compare modern Japanese quality to Chinese horsecrap.

You are living in the past if you think Chinese quality is horsecrap.

Chinese quality in all industries has improved significantly in the last 20 years, quality varies like all countries, from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Please provide evidence why ZX Moto and Kove bikes are horsecrap.

Well, I see your point regarding Apple. However, that level of quality does not transfer over to motorcycles. I should say historically it has never transferred over. Hey I hope I’m wrong about this.

China is now able to produce the big 3 of the manufacturing world, jet engines, semiconductors, and nuclear submarines. Only a couple countries on earth are capable of this. More countries have nukes and can send rockets to space than can produce jet engines. China is also one out of 2 countries producing a 6th generation fighter. Their manufacturing is as good as anyones right now.

If you want an example closer to motorcycles, you should compare build quality of Chinese cars from the 00's with current Chinese cars. It's night and day.

It might be hard for you to see one in the flesh in the US but they're all over Latin America (20-40% market share) and rising fast in Europe (12% market share). Compared to US market share, China is on par or a bit better in Latin America and 3-4 times more in Europe.

Same story goes for motorcycles btw, Chinese brands have over 12% market share in some of largest European markets (16% in France), growing very fast (+50% annual growth) while expanding from small displacement commuters to larger 450cc rally and 800-1000cc ADV bikes and roadsters. Talking about expansion, CFMoto is also market leader in ATV/UTV in Spain.
