JT is reporting he's gonna do SMX on the Kawi. How is this even remotely possible? The team has zero confidence in him, he hates everything about the bike, his own damn engine guy blew him out on Insta....How do they come together and actually pull off these races? If I was him, i REALLY wouldn't trust the bike with people that hate me are the ones working on it, the team is gonna be biting their nails to see if he even TRIES, and oh my, if he pulls another Budds Creek at an SMX round, the internet will explode.

Kawi and monster likely need to field a rider and he is under contract so push comes to shove they have to mend fences as best they can for at least a month.

I would have every member of the Kawi team wearing recording devices. I want it to record Prado saying "ok, i'm ready to go race!" so that later when he whines "I told them the bike was dangerous - that's why I didn't push it!" I would nail his ass to the wall.

oh. Tx is a one party consent state so I can record anyone/anywhere. Didn't consider other state's laws, obviously.

I think this is likely as Kawi needs a bike there but lord, I can’t imagine anything positive coming from this.  The circus continues I guess.

Penalties/funding pay back if they dont put a bike out there ridden by Prado. Monster demand it seems.

Apparently Monster is also the one blocking the exit since Prado has a personal deal.

Dont think its an actual personal deal between Prado and Monster but rather that Kawi and Monster has Prado named in the contract which means they cant replace him with anyone and to avoid penalty or paying back funding.

So if Kawi lets Prado go, Monster wants money back, which means Kawi wants money back from Prado to cover the loss hence the locked situation.

Hopefully funding is released and consumed on a yearly basis so everyone is square after SMX. Shitload of complications if funding was released already 2024, like taxes and VAT paid by Prado during 2025 for late 2024 income.

Yep. It's a shit situation. Not overly complicated. It's actually pretty simple. That's how contracts work and at the end of the day it seems as though Prado is the most at fault and he's trying to get out scotch free and leave kawi and monster with mud on their faces. It's pretty easy to see why kawi and monster are trying to prevent that from happening.

We're going to find out a lot pretty soon regarding Prado.  Is there any excuse acceptable when going back to the steel frame?  If it's the bike, it's the bike, right??

No, but if Sexton gets on the bike and can’t keep it in the top 10 next year, it’s the bike.

🥲

So, both Prado and Sexton tried the bike, liked it enough to sign a multi year contract and then later on said, “It’s the bike.”

Just like every employee that goes elsewhere, it's always going to be better but then they find out it never is.

The potential was there, but not the improvement asked by the riders.

Kawasaki riders from John Desoto to Jason Anderson found some success on Kawasaki. Jeff Ward, Weinert, Larocco, Kiedrowski, and RV knew the bike had flaws but rode around the flaws to get championships.

You don’t win 2 MX2 and 2 MXGP titles and then just lose the talent, the drive, or the ability to work with a team. Perhaps it was the bike, but 100% more likely it was all along the team dynamic and the culture within the team not conducive to allowing change.

Even as recent as this weekend RV2 reiterated that he wish he had switched brands and he would have extended his career. And he is currently a brand ambassador for Kawi!!! He originally said it as Yamaha brand ambassador but I was shocked when he said it this week on one of the Pulp shows. Weimer said previously how much he and RV2 had to fight the bike.
Guys like Tomac and RV2 may have raced longer, better if they were never on Kawi.

I think I am misunderstood here. I am not saying Kawasaki's team is run well so much as I am saying winners work with what they have and get on with the task at hand. Kawasaki likely is not an ideal team to ride for, but history shows plenty have won on the scooter.

a full year later, and there is still lots of people that don't understand what the issue was. it wasn't the bike or Prado's performance. Most knew that Prado had talent, which he showed many times this past year. It's more his image as a prima donna that took a hit and turned people off. That will be there forever in my mind (No offense to anyone that thinks differently). He can be the best in the world by a minute in every race and I still don't have to be a fan. Lot's of people didn't like RC, no one can argue with his stats. I was happy to see him get back to his usual self, and I didn't find myself shaking my head in disbelief, but I didn't really find myself cheering for the guy over many others.
