Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
I hope FIM finally goes bankrupt trying to compete against 1 and only true World Supercross Championship. Sick of their money grab approach to everything they've tried to do to sway riders away from AMA Supercross. And I'm glad it backfired not once, twice, but 4 times now. Now all the remaining talent can come here instead of big fish in a little pond.
The problem is them trying to be worldwide and a series at once, whilst cloning an existing product (AMA SX), with no cultural acceptance for the series. It is just a made up thing. I would have thought they could market it as a primarily European series, and then tried to expand.
In short, essentially they needed a longer term MXGP-style approach of rolling it out, as opposed to going for "worldwide" status so quickly. Hold more racing, for more media and buy in from the fans. I think even changing the track to be a new flavour of SX would be a good idea.
It wasn't the FIM that did that it was the original promoters.....all the FIM has done is sell the rights to the World Championship....
Liberty Media should buy the rights and run the races on Saturday night in conjunction with select rounds of MotoGP and WSBK. The Indy MotoGP round used to be run on the same weekend as the Indy Mile and it was awesome to go the flat track race after the daytime qualifying program was over.
And change the name to SXGP!

Be a lot better if Liberty bought the US series and sent Feld back to the circus.
Then you get a "Ride to Survive" reality series blowing moto up. Yes its cringe to core fans, that's unavoidable.
"actively progressing discussions to secure significant new investment" means 'we are going out of business soon'
Screw liberty media. Haven’t been a fan of Feld lately, but don’t want LM running shit either.
We need some people with passion running the show. Screw all the pyro technics and bullshit. Put that budget into dirt for the tracks and stop handcuffing the events with lame designs and shitty builds. Bring back lime.
Have a serious discussion about the structure of the sport. Do we really need 80 riders trying to qualify every weekend? Run it like it’s the professional sport it is. It should be the Elite of the Elite. Put some prestige on it. It would leave room for the ecosystem of lesser series as well. F1 model as an example.
Do we need 22 riders on the track? Track designs could be more unique if we didn’t need half the stadium for a start straight every weekend. We’d also solve a lot of the lapper problem if we cut down the field some. We’d likely have fewer guys getting injured too.
just try something that actual is about the racing, that’s the true ‘fan experience’
Yeah by canceling the British round and what you said tells you they don't have any money....they are done and hoping for a miracle. The only thing of value, and even that is questionable, is the FIM World Championship name....The supposed buyers would be better off letting them fail and then just work with the FIM directly.
Ducati 450 ride awaits!
Even though the series was pretty clunky and amateurish at times, it did provide some good racing and potentially had a path to become a series for the old timers that don't want to do 30+2 twice a day over the summer and young future pros that needed the SX work. Them failing is a bummer.
This...
if you think feld is bad, liberty is another level worse...
Liberty are no saints, that's for sure, but they have the ability to create a synergy between road racing and dirt racing fans that no one else does.
We've seen something similar and pretty successful in the USA with flattrack being combined with something or in Australia when supercross was pretty big, they had races on the side of the track at Australian V8 or was it something else?
But combined events with a low ticket price to catch new eyes is always a good idea.
We don’t need that synergy imo. I don’t give a damn about moto gp and I’d wager most fans don’t.
Well, this is aimed more at introducing European and other world MotoGP fans to the sport of supercross, more than the other way around and probably wouldn't happen in the US. Seems like WSX and MXGP could use some exposure to new fans, this could be a way in.
NHRA ran the same weekend in Houston before. Their a motorsports enthusiast audience. (National Hot Rod Association)
Australia had a round of supercross at one of the V8 Supercar street races for a couple of years in Adelaide, the track was more arenacross spec, but they also had a sprint car show on, an awesome weekend of motorsport,
All within 15 minutes. Remarkable.

WSX problem is scheduling and all the riders they want are pretty happy racing the US series. They bit off more then they could chew. They were under the impression riders would up and leave the US series/nationals to ride there’s. But that’s just not happening.
another part of the problem is the lack of prestige in the series. The governing bodies are trying to tell us it’s a supercross world championship and feld telling us SMX is a world title. The problem is fans are smarter than that and we know neither title means shit in the grand scheme.
I think youre right here. The reason mxgp works is because europe is far away from america and they have their own separate riders and tracks to fill up a whole series and dont need to try to entice some americans to come over in the off season or even mid season to fill up the gates. Theres enough professional motocross racers in the world for two professional series to run at the same time.
Thats not the case with supercross. You have americans, an aussie here or there and a couple french guys and thats it. So instead of there being enough riders for 2 series you are fighting between 1 series worth of riders to try to fill two.
Youre right that if they want world sx to work they need to start small as a european sx league and build up enough talent over time so they have enough people to fill the gates then they can start traveling around the world. Theyre doing it backwards and trying to find riders after the series already exists. Europe needs to build up its own sx culture and talent pool so there is enough sx riders to fill a 2nd championship. They tried to arrive at the finish line without the slow grind it takes to nurture a talent pool so you can even run a series. Unless europe gets serious about sx its not gonna work.
Yeah the strategy of taking on us supercross and paying the top riders big show up money to not race the whole series was not going to work to build legitimacy which is why I think whoever buy the FIM rights is going to need to do something out of the box to make it work. It's an uphill battle that isn't going to be won by claiming you have 50 million dollars to pay teams like you're big shit then flaking.
They never recovered from trying to steal riders from the SX series with their scheduling competing with outdoors because of that they never got the manufacturers support and without that your dead….
