Only $10 for all 2026 SX, MX, and SMX series.
I know it would never happen, but how cool would it be if the top riders from both sides of the pond were able to qualify somehow in their own series and have it be a three round mini international series. Could race at venues like the Charlotte Motor Speedway to make it more of a real hybrid style track.
I’d rather have SMX than Monster Cup or straight rhythm, ideally we could have all but if it’s one or the other I’m taking SMX all day. SMX gives us all the best guys and the money gives everyone an incentive to race hard. Yes it is quite gimmicky but so were those other events, straight rhythm specifically.
I think SMX has it’s place but they are not willing to spend the money to make it the spectacle they try to advertise it as. First year there was a race at the coliseum which was cool but now that’s too expensive and we’re going to places like this past weekend which seems like a downgrade from places they visit during SX. The venue for the finale looks cool and I think that’s how SMX “should be”. Trying to do these races in regular stadiums just makes it seem like a 2nd tier supercross series.
It's not a "playoff".
A cruise ship IS a great idea!

They call it the SMX Playoffs but no one gets eliminated as the rounds progress. Makes sense.
Want to make this novelty SMX Playoffs thing more exciting to watch.
Round 1:
20 riders line up in each class.
Eliminate five 450 riders and five 250 riders.
Round 2:
15 riders line up in each class.
Eliminate another five 450 riders and five 250 riders.
Round 3:
20 riders line up on a single gate composed of ten 450 riders and ten 250 riders.
Practice/qualifying split into two groups.
Group A: Top 5 riders from each class.
Group B: Bottom 5 riders from each class.
Super Pole
Since there's now only 1 combined class, have a 3 moto format that pays normal points for all 3 motos.
At the end of the day it's still a novelty, but at least it's something completely different than we're used to watching.
I like your idea! Tracks would have to be set up with sections that favored 250's and other sections that let the 450s breath. That would even the power/weight advantage. Poor track design would ruin the concept.
If you listen to the VitalMX post race show for Columbus they talk about a knockout series which I think is a good idea.
Start with 30 riders on an outdoor track that's not on the mx schedule maybe with an SX section added. Top 20 advance to round 2 at maybe a somewhat traditional SX track, top 10 advance. Make the last round a real super supercross track since it's only the top 10 in each class, maybe it can be at a smaller venue like Bercy of the US Open, run a super pole that pays points.
I can't claim this idea as my own as a friend shared it with me, but it makes a ton of sense to me at least. These race formats could be on tracks with or without whoops.
Round 1: Regular Supercross format. Heats, LCQs and 25 points to the rider who wins the main.
Round 2: Outdoor Motocross format (in a stadium OR even at an iconic moto track). Riders score points from BOTH motos.
Round 3: Triple Crown format. Each Race scores points instead of calculating an overall winner.
This naturally gives the single, double, triple points without it being a gimmicky multiplier.
Why the hell are some people saying get rid of it? Its more racing to watch. Right now there could be nothing or this, ill take this. I guess maybe if they got rid of it that would give wsx september october november and december to put in a real series, but smx is honestly still miles better than wsx. Wsx still comes across as half assed even on the stuff they should be getting right by now like tv stuff.
If the choices are more racing or no racing ill take racing every time.
Well, quite a few of those bloody things would have more acreage than a footy, soccer or baseball stadium!
I see No Hybrid nature to this years tracks - it's an Absolutely P**s Poor effort on Felds side.
Everyone’s just sour because the main players are out.
SMX is stupid. Get rid of it.
screw smx with new rules, monster cup, straight rhythm... This will be forever the most fun thing someone can have on a 2 wheels machine. Make it a 10 round/year... for real
Other than Jett and Chase, who else is a “main player” that isn’t racing ?
Justin Cooper ?
I said it in another thread, they need 3 rounds at a Daytona type track.. Dunno if that's possible but still.
As someone else said the first year was sick but they've gotten more and more SX lately
Stop calling it a world championship too
I could get behind this..
I was also thinking of a format but haven't ironed it out entirely haha but
15-20 qualifiers have a 5 lap race for a small amount of points
Then the 10-20 qualifiers for a 10 lap race for a larger amount of points
Then 5-20 and 1-20 but have the points work out, where it pays to qualify well but if you win all the races you get more points than if you just win the main race..
So a top guy that needs points could roll the dice and try to win all 4 races but also could give the lesser known guys some tv time..
You could race A1 and win, then take the rest of the year off until SMX playoffs… and still win the championship.
There should be some sort of rule that requires participation in both series.
Jett is absent and Hunter did bad. If hunter would’ve won then everyone would be happy. He didn’t so everyone is sad that Hunter had to be subjected to this kind of hardship.
No one cares about Chase
