Trump’s $5K Promise. Dividend or Vote Buying?

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard...complete desperation...it's insanity.  If the country had no debt, and an extra $1.3T in the "bank" and he wanted to do that...I could possibly, maybe, but still not likely, get behind something like this IF (and only if) It wasn't tied to a particular party winning an election...

Biden said two democrats needed to get elected to tip the balance and allow congress to approve a third round of stimulus checks related to COVID.

You are smart enough to know this is not the same thing.

 Without  just pointing at somebody else and saying  they did the same thing. 

 First off they didn't do the same thing, they actually sent out checks and worked to cancel student loans. Is it worse to just say what you think will get a vote with no effort made to make the promises happen, or to  deliver on the promises? 

  How do you feel this reflects on Trump and how he feels  about how things are going?  

Are they going not so great and people could really use some money? Or are things as good as they can get under Trump and the only thing that would be better is a promise for a $5k check? I'm realistic and know there are always more possibilities than the ones I can think of, so I know there are so many more possibilities but for the sake of time and space I'll stop  with those.  

If things are not going well for people right now,  that would be a reason to vote for somebody else.  So how could things be going so well, but Trump feels there is such a risk of them losing the majority?  He knows he's  not delivered for  the people in the lower income areas of his supporters and that's why he's offering the money. If they were all doing so much better the way things are right now , why would anybody want to vote those people out?  

 But the bigger question is , at this point is there anybody who still believes him when he makes a claim like this? 

After the multiple promises of other similar checks that he has had as much as 2 years to have made happen, does he even believe anybody believes him about getting a check?  And if so, what does that tell you about what he thinks of his supporters?  

 I'm almost sure You will ignore or say something that's not really related to what I'm saying . But  I live alone so I'm used to talking to myself , so its no big deal.

I think it's more like Biden promising  $10,000.00 in student loan forgiveness during the 20' campaign. I really don't see a big difference but then again, I didn't vote for either one.

That's almost a banger, if not for the illegals targeting because the vast majority oppose illegal immigration, so there's too much disparity in the size of the groups they're attempting to compare, but the general point does a good job pointing out some degree of hypocrisy. 

I don't oppose it based on bribery though, because technically a politician offering anything that people want could be considered as bribery. I dislike it because math. And really @APLMAN99 is being extremely generous by offering "dividend" as a possibility, because we're going to add $2 Trillion to debt this year, so it's not possible for there to be a surplus. The only thing there could be with a $5,000 payment, is even more debt, coupled with inflation. 

A dividend is a distribution of profits. There are no profits, quite the opposite. That leaves a vote buy. A big one.

 Not only a $5k check, gas under $2 and  a win in the war against Iran  IF republicans hold the majority....................
