Why would they go to all this trouble and release so few bikes the first year?

Never really heard it get above 7500rpm or so in the video. Is this the nature of it being a bit bigger than the KTM 300? Those lug great then pull pretty well up to 9k or so.

Always thought the KTM 300 delivered the best of both worlds. Hopefully this KX isn’t a midrange-only motor.

Yeah I’m sure most want a 327 top end screamer

All I meant was the KTM can do both pretty well (lug and scream). Hope the KX can do that too.

At least let's hope they make a road-legal version of the X for Europe...

I did notice while looking through the newly released stuff that somewhere it said “non-ABS version” which made me wonder if there was an ABS version planned to be released at some point.

I'm just hoping there is a true headlight version or that the X isn't that far off of that.

Based on that exhaust note, it seems like a short-shift motor. Just doesn’t sound free revving up top. Let’s see what MXA has to say. I’m guessing +1 on the rear sprocket fixes everything 😉

My local dealer told me they are getting 10 KX-X models and 5 KX models. I sent them a message after A1 in 2025 when they released the first 2 stroke sound, can't wait to get mine! (getting the X model)

is your local dealer close to me by chance, san diego area?

West Coast Canada, not very close! Buy one from my local dealer and I'll bring it down in March when I drive down to Palm Desert 😂

Yep, extra noisy and rattley sounding. Odd, I can’t decide if he’s riding it in too low of a gear, or it’s just the sound quality.

They must've made a fortune out of that 20 year old tooling & BNG, it's time they spent some of that cash on a new bike

Yes, they Certainly Have - They've made a pretty penny with a now 21 year old chassis, with an even older motor base.

Some plastics changes. and a few 'grabs' from a (very) few 4t suspension parts (brakes too?), and they've kept on selling them in worthwhile numbers.

Cripes, they've had that easy weight  (and performance adding? ) 4 stroke swingarm set up  that people do, just sitting there for them to go for.

A variation of that, and, a new ( well not even entirely new - look to the Fantics for what can be done with the basic engine they've used for well over 20 years), or a wholly new engine, like what they did with the 125 a few years back, and, job done!

The main chassis, is Superb - no need to mess with that, new body work would suffice. A YZ250 Chassis conversion is the only AF I'd personally want with one of my 500 engines placed into - I've done 2 of them for mates, a few years ago, now  and they are wonderful things. I've much preferred them over twin spare frames.

Searched my area and found a local dealer. Put my deposit down on an X, so stoked!

From my extended audiological anyalysis, it's pretty obvious that the shim spliven nurbulator settings are at least 3.25 parsecs out alignment; furthermore the emacipator valving is clearly not froomalating with the sort of precision one would expect. I'm holding onto my deposit money until I have notarized letter from Mitch Payton, and Chase Sexton that they are aware of these issues.

Insiders say each bike will come with a Nurbulator alignment gauge.
