Is it just me, or did we miss the 20 year anniversary of VitalMX?
I see guys like me, FTE, Lostboy, NV825, Seemefirst and others have a start date of 8/2006...so I'm assuming that's around the time when GuyB migrated us over from MotoDrive...

Quite a few of us were on MotoDrive since the late '1900's'... lol
It was definitely more fun back then.
I skipped motodrive, couldn't get in to it. Went Fresh Dirt, Motonews, then here (lurked for a while before joining). Pretty much only place I visit regularly nowadays.
I was gonna mention... it would be cool to give a special something to users when they hit a year, 5 yrs, a decade, etc....
Also... maybe a special something for people that have never been clipped... and that even includes me... 🙃
Dang...seems like it was just last week Motodrive died and we got forced here. How is it 20 years already? That crazy...

My start date says 2008 but I know I was a member before that. Can't remember when I actually signed up but some sort of software glitch or upgrade clipped some of our actual start dates and they got reset to that new date. No matter. Loved the Mototalk, Fresh Dirt, etc. era. Great times back then. Today..... not so much, but, I'm still here everyday. 🤷♂️
A batch of the original members that had the 2006 date got caught up in that and had their dates changed to 2008. I'm one of those people. Going back to Bushwood I'm at 28 years or so on these boards.

Yeah, I think there was a reset a year or two after we all were over here.... Actually, I think there were a couple times when GuyB lost everything and shit had to reset.... Hell, I hardly remember what I had for dinner last night...let alone 20-25 years ago... lol
I'll never forget the 5 to 10 mins it took on Motonews to load up the McGrath Suzuki images back in January 1997.....HUGE deal!

I'm internet user groups old. One day I'll get the hang of these new fangled Bulletin Board sites. I'm just happy not to wait on a 14.4 modem to handshake before logging on.🤠

It was so cool that we could access race images while the race was happening. I remember how badass I thought his yellow Fox gear looked. Sitting up late refreshing Virtual Grandstand to follow along is a core memory.
I posted my 9-11 experience on Motodrive when I finally got home from the city that night because a lot of guys seemed like friends from around the country.
I also remember a reset or 2 here back in the day.

Ive made this post below several times and I'll make it again here -
I miss the days where there was pagination (being able to go from page 1 to 2 to 3 and so on). The unlimited scrolling elimated this and makes it so old threads are nearly impossible to find unless you know what your searching for. I use to go back to the first few pages to see what was going on during those times. I think a Bump of the week would be cool, where an old interesting thread is bumped to the front.

Same here. Ronron and nacnac. I had a username from the start for vital, not sure what it was.
Ronron was great for learning about moto in other parts of the country, like Oklahoma and Texas.
I remember how Vital and Motodrive would crash during A1 every year , talk about pissed off people.

I think that was around the time Steve migrated the last Motodrive threads over here, and there was some kind of glitch because of matching usernames or some shit like that. If you go back and look at some of the really old threads (I think there's a couple in the HoF) some of the posters are listed as Username (MD).
