Just watched the Budds Creek post race press conference, and sat through the Deegan interview. At least two “journalists” asked him about what he’s learned so far. But no one asked him if he’s demanding payment to race the MXoN? Why not? There’s no law that limits questions to the race just completed. I mean, they asked him to tell his favorite story about his departing mechanic, for chrissakes.
Because they’ are all scared he will black list them and won’t ever go on their pods bro
Moto 'media'
I’m starting to think they’re more worried about getting blacklisted by Monster, rather than the family Deegan…
I think because the answer is already understood and known. R.J. Hamshire stated that switching teams was the cause of him withdrawing from the Des Nations, but also that last year it totally destroyed his off season as well.

Maybe, and hear me out here…maybe no one asked because they all know the answer would be “I’m not sure yet, they’ll make the announcement next weekend.” Loosen the tinfoil hat, boys, not everything's a conspiracy.
Honestly who cares about mxdn a bunch of euro dweebs who race each other every weekend anyways. Ama series is the best USA USA USA
I understand outing your feelings like this when no American rider has won a single race in the premier class. I would be frustrated too.
For weeks, the podcasters have been saying there’s a rumor that, if asked to represent the USA, Haiden Deegan will demand a bonus payment. A “rumor.” Wtf is that? Just ask him, how hard can that be? Not a conspiracy, no tinfoil involved, but it does require the practice of a little journalism.
You're getting down voted, but to be honest, you're not wrong.
American-born riders only won 7 of 17 Supercross races and that's without Jett being there. We haven't won a single moto outdoors in the premier class. Even in the 250 class, foreign-born riders won about half the Supercross races and they're dominating the top 10 outdoors, as well. I think there are many reasons for this.
All of our Supercross tracks are basically just different combinations of the same obstacles. But to Feld, it looks good on TV and that's all that matters because we're nothing but a product to sell. They're not one of us. Outdoors, it's a little bit better than in years past, but the track surfaces are essentially prepared identically at the same 11 tracks every year. Our guys rarely train in rain or sand or blue groove. The teams bitch and moan every time track conditions aren't ideal. Europeans ride on every surface, in any condition.
They have a robust amateur system bringing up their riders through real developmental series' like EMX, whereas our top amateurs live at training facilities and rarely race at all. Loretta Lynn's once a year for DC's paycheck doesn't cut it anymore. I don't see much changing to remedy this for at least a generation. There's too much money to be made by the people who are making it right now.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to be paid for your time and effort, particularly with the risk involved.
How about the risk racing the MXDN in the US?
You didn't recognize that what scido wrote was sarcasm? He's from Australia.
With that being said, I hope America always competes but I have a real problem with the fleecing of the riders, fans, and teams. Who would ever think that a promoter could put on a race (a very highly attended race) with pay-per-view royalties, control all merch sales, VIP sales, etc. and not have to pay the riders or the teams. With the money that is brought in from the race it should cost the manufacturers nothing to send riders. The riders should never have to come out of pocket to attend and race while some of the smaller countries could compete without undue financial hardship. All proceeds from this race should support the racers and teams, whatever is left over should be donated to road to recovery and the rest of the countries equivalent organization. Longo makes his money during the year on MXGP he should not be making a penny from this race. Where is his patriotism? I'm aware it's all about country but regardless how does this make any sense?
I must add that if Longo does contribute any money I am not aware of, it's probably chump change.
So only InFront, Louongo(?), or whoever’s promoting this race should make money from it? Those guys are making a boat load of cash from this race and it’s time to start paying out some money to the stars whos image/likeness they use to sell the tickets. Hopefully more top guys ask to get paid by those greedy ppl.
Agree. If the race is for national pride, then it could be done on a non-profit basis, at all levels. Direct cost reimbursement, after donations are made. And that would include ticket pricing. Since it’s impossible to predict actual costs in advance, overcharges (generally called profit) could be carried over from year to year as a buffer to ensure it doesn’t go broke if there’s a bad year.
Instead, we have a standard, for profit, business model for everyone except the performers. I have no problem at all with making a profit, unless you’re telling the workers to work for free because of national pride.. then it just stinks..
They need to stop holding mxdn every year. Move it to every 3 years or something that way its like the actual olympics and its more of something ppl want to go to. Having it every year has cheapened it and makes it too regular. It should be a special race that you dont get many chances to go to in your career so the top guys want to go. With usa not wanting to go very much, australia sitting out this year, deegan always refusing to go and now wont go unless he gets paid the whole thing is ridiculous. Plus theyre making a ton of money off it. Every year needs to end.
Even though I think scido was just trolling with his comment…..your number should be American riders won 12 of 17 SX events. Kenny is a U.S. citizen!! People can scoff at this….and Germans cring….but I would rather have Kenny, who has said how he loves America, on the U.S. MXDN team then deegan, who has never put his money where his mouth is on representing this country.
btw….I love Europe and the many years I lived there.

Yeah, let's make the best MX race of the year once every four years, against decades of tradition -and applaud that flying tuff blocks shit show instead, there really should be more of that.
The MX world is getting just as nuts as the world is.
Love motocross and supercross. If supercross is such a shit show why do so many of the top MXGP riders want to race it. I just like racing whether in Europe or America, Supercross, motocross, desert racing, cross country, etc. No reason to hate a series because the Americans took a european developed motocross series and modified it to run in stadiums. It really is great racing if you can get past the I hate America thing.
What risk are you referring to? The tracks are well groomed, plenty of medical personnel at track, helicopters close by to transport injured riders. I'm really not following you.
Learning to decipher what you read is pretty important, if you ask me.
😏
Clue: like pigs, Feld's tuff blocks don't fly.
I'd keep the MXoN the way it is, and drop kick the smx races that sounded interesting initially, but haven't really panned out. This would give the guys a real offseason, and we can stop hearing about burnout mid June.
Yep, right back at you.
Im not sure whats sadder the comments on vital or the comments on pornhub.
If the promoters are making money the riders should make some money. It's that simple.
Riders should not be paying to go race. That's insane. The promoters should pay all costs to get the bikes to the race and some sort of profit sharing with the riders.im not saying the promoters shouldn't make money, but they shouldn't make money at the expense of the riders.
I don't think this event would generate the kind of money to handle all transport costs for every country, plus money for the riders.
Oh, OK, you write pretty well for a 4yo.
😉
2nd clue: I was talking about the fake world supercross championship. Ya know, the retirement home.
Google says the attendance was 130,000 people last yr. Let's say it was 70% of that amount (91,000). Google says the 1 day ticket price was $145 for an adult and $70 or kids. Let's say it was 2/3 adults and 1/3 kids. That comes to $10,942,750.00. I realize that is income, not profit. However, if their estimates are correct for numbers they would have brought even more money in. There were 114 primary bikes used at the MXoN, so let's say there were 150 bikes shipped to the USA at a cost of $4,000 per bike. The total cost to ship those 150 bikes to the usa and back home would be roughly $1.2 million. There's still 9.7 million dollars of revenue left over not including the revenue from viewers online, additional income for vip passes, etc.
I still stand behind my comment. The event should help offset costs for teams and riders and then, assuming there is a profit, which I would imagine there would be, the rider's would get 10-20%. That is how I would run the event. If it is not profitable to do this then they should stop doing the event or do it every 4 yrs to lower the cost to teams.
