Show was good.
Mainly went to check our bike out at the Outlaw both.
Still plan on going again next year.
Some manufacturers were bummed, but an equal number that I talked to said that the time with each dealer who did show up was much more productive.
Keep up the good work and love the coverage.
Saturday was my busiest day for meeting with dealers. It might have been down this year but it still feels like there is more momentum going into this season.
Oh yeah, I did get an autographed poster signed to my son from none other than Chad Reed. We had a little talk and I'd like to think that I helped him win his first race of the season.
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
dealer attendance was low.
they absolutely need to schedule the SX and the show in the same weekend to increase traffic for both events!!
then have the expo open to the public on Sunday.
DD
then the riders can be in their respective sponsors booths on Sunday signing autographs.
I heard the same weekend as SX with a public day from many people. Sounds like a great weekend!
This was a strange Indy for me this year. I set up the 2 displays and other than talking to some of the reps I was off walking the show. After the show closed at 3 the last day I have everything packed in the car and headed out of town in about 45 min!
It was really strange having everyone in the same expanded area....I kept looking for the side rooms to have someone in it.
in 2001
Big shout out to both Chad Reed and Carey Hart for flying in and doing a 2 hour autograph session on Friday morning. They both got in late Thursday night, signed autographs on Friday and jetted off to prior commitments that afternoon. Chad to the SX in San Diego and Carey to Daytona for the 500.
They really know how to keep a sponsor and their fans happy.
Pit Row
The WPS booth was crowded most of the time.
Risk Racing had a Moto Hose equipped CRF on display.
A sponsored GNCC riders bike was on display at the Mid America XC Racing booth.
The NEW TM's are really trick!
It's been amazing being part of the emergence of the company. Really is the job of a lifetime.
The Cycle World party at Rock Bottom Breweries was awesome, they step it up this year, it was packed with people watching the race until 1:30 am. Won my bets on top 3 that night
DD, I agree that bringing in the SX would add traffic, but I don't think Indy has enough hotels for that.
The best would be to move it but it's sketchy, it has to be an easy destination for the Euros/Aussies/Fast-East crews to fly in.
Bring in the SX!!!
plenty of hotels.
think INDY 500 shenz..... 300,000 people +
