well, he's never lost a series he's started and completed; he went 22-0 his rookie 450 season; he's won the MXDN; he's highest paid MXr ever; Industry experts say he's the best. his brother may win the title this season, he may not. Your rider (insert here) will not.....

“Of all time” does not relate to this year partner. That is a lofty moniker for a guy still racing. If you remove Jett’s nuts from your eyes, you can see in my last post I said his stats are impressive. Ricky Carmichael has 2 perfect seasons, and is a 15 time champion. Talk to me when Jett evens the score. Also, I am no Deegan fan.

easy, why so angry? you asked for an explanation so i gave you one. obviously you don't agree and that's ok. i hope you're not one of those guys who talk tough behind a keyboard, but run at the first sign of trouble.....partner

I am not, and I agree I was antagonistic, my apologies. Sometimes I fall victim to this place and get riled up. My disagreement is not with Jett’s talent or potential of being the greatest of all time, just don’t think he’s there yet.

Great stats. Thanks for putting these together. Curious to see if the brain dead here can comprehend that his strength of competition is unprecedented.

So funny how he was the next big thing when he was crushing the dismal 250 class in AMA but when he finally moved to the premier class, everything that his "haters" said came true. Everyone who knows the sport knew he was in for a real challenge once he moved up, his fanbase hated when anyone said he has a large battle ahead of him and may not even win a race in his rookie 450 year.

Now it's "no rookie has raced against this deep of a field before.' Wake up! Yes, he's good but I think the popularity and 250 class success is distracting a lot of you from where his skill level lies. If you haven't yet, it's time to temper expectations if you want to remain sane. Windham is one of the sport's most beloved racers and he always fell short of the phenom he was up against.

It’s obvious that no one else is worthy of being on the gate with a Lawrence unless it’s another Lawrence.

Am I reading those stats right to interpret them as Haiden has the toughest comp, and Jett the weakest?

Deegan's Comp average overall finish 5.43 to Jetts 9.54...

Deegan's comp average points per round is 32.29 to Jetts 25.82

Is that what those stats show? Haidens competition is finishing 5th and scoring 32 points a round to Jett's competition finishing 9th and scoring 25 points per round?

  1. find 3rd gear
  2. abandon the theory that “bulldogging” the 450 is the secret to going faster
  3. start in front of of 18 & 96

Can you do the numbers against bam bam??

And...

Why don't ya show how weak the fields were for the cringe lords 250 days....? They neverrrr mentioned that during his 250 days, yet they are all over it for the 450s....

Cringe lord will never recover from how they made him out to be the best thing ever... then he started racing the best ever and it showed just how far away his actually is... funny how the bed bugs number 1 excuse is "but he's racing the best ever"  now days... lmaooo...

I tried my hand at comparing Deegan’s first eight 450 races to those of the last five multi-time Lites MX champs. I wrestled with what metrics to use and how to create them for the opposition strength slides. I settled with two relatively simple ones. Quick conclusion is Deegan’s competition has been stiffer than any other multi time lites champ has seen. Plenty of other metrics to dig even further though.

Total overall wins faced at round one is the amount of wins from everyone on the gate prior to the evaluated riders’ debut.

This slide shows the weighted average previous-three-season overall finish of the top-10 opponents faced during each rider's first eight 450 starts, weighted by both opponent experience (prior starts over the previous three seasons) and frequency faced. For example, Cooper Webb finished in the top 10 against Haiden Deegan five times during Deegan's first eight 450 starts. Webb's 2023-2025 average overall finish is therefore included five times in Deegan's weighted calculation.

Who cares? You’re still beating that drum? The problem with created a Deegan hate account is you’re limited in what you can say. But whatever gets you off, besides Jett.

In his first 8 races Danger has almost tied Jett for moto losses. Zero wins and hasn’t even lead one lap. Do people still believe the hype?

His fans for the most part said he’d take a win or two but probably wouldn’t beat Jett. If anything, they underestimated Hunter. Most fans said he’d be 3rd to 5th his rookie season. If it’s different, you are welcome to show all these so called fans who said he’d smoke the field to support your claim. All you’ll likely get are the fringe fans who don’t represent most Deegan fans.

Haiden himself said numerous times pre-season, he hopes to run with the front runners. However, your claim that what his haters said is coming to fruition is simply false. They said he’d be a 5th to 7th place guy with a couple podiums. It was said that Eli, Chase and Prado would relegate him to those 5 to 7 positions. He was, some claimed, Barcia 2.0. Now he’s apparently the bridesmaid Windham. All that just 8 races into his rookie season.

As for where his skill level lies…it’s high. Super high. He’s beating everyone but the Lawrence’s, and whether he’s hit his ceiling has yet to be seen. In fact, he isn’t only the rider with loads of talent. The guys that he beat, like Cole Davies, Levi Kitchen, Jo Shimoda, and several others are super talented. Love to see you go line up and see how dismal the class is.

Weird you’d call the class dismal when Deegan simply stood out from it. Those dudes are some of the fastest in the class. Hopefully you won’t slight Cole Davies wins because he’s competing in a “dismal” class.

Barcia 2.0. is not that far off.

Barcia finished 3rd his rookie season. Deegan is currently third.

Barcia finished in the top 5 in 11 out of 12 nationals. Deegan currently has 6 top 5 finishes out of 8 with 3 rounds left.

Barcia had 5 overall podium. Deegan currently has 4.

Barcia's best overall was 2nd (x2). Deegan's best overall is currently 2nd (x1).

Whether or not his career will end up similar to Barcia's or not, only time will tell.

I don't see how that's a bad thing.

I question how valid the strength of class numbers are. Calling 2026 a tougher field than 2011 is insane

the more interesting comparison would be to see how many 450 laps led by former multi-time Lites champs compared to the dangerboy at this stage.....i'm guessing there would be a few. i know of at least 2 with laps led

Sixteen races. Zero wins.

Sixteen races. Zero laps lead.

What are these 'bed bugs' constantly being mentioned on this site lately?

Why are grown men on this site infatuated with Brian Deegans lips?

Objectively James Stewart faced the hardest competition than anyone else ever!! He had to go against a guy who won every mx championship at that point, including 2 perfect seasons (and going on to win multiple more). And becoming the goat, which even Jett will not dethrone.

I like statistics myself but this averaging over top 5/10s is just diluting facts and trying to find measures for comparisons which are ultimately never objective. In the end It doesn’t matter the number of fast guys, average points, etc. If you are not winning you are not winning. It’s very simple actually.
