Does Herlings hang em up?

All he needs is new clutch. 

JH84 is an anomaly, even at top level dirt bike riding. He’s was the fastest rider on sand at 15 and now he’s 31. In between he was the fastest rider on any surface for a few years. I struggle with the fact if Lucas would have anything for him last Sunday and Coenen is a generational talent. If the bullet wasn’t injury prone he would smashed all outdoors records by now. I feel privileged we can still enjoy him. 
 

I look at him as an anomaly. He loves grinding and to crush people's souls. He's RC without the ability to stay healthy but also doesn't seem to be burning out. 

This is probably because he feels he left so much on the table due to injury. He's been the best rider since he moved up. His competition is himself and it still seems to motivate him. 

Guy is arguably the gnarliest to ever do it. 

Does he have children yet?

I see De Wolf and Vialle being a pain in Herlings ass next year. This year was both thier rookie years on 450. Next year will be game on

According to Searle on 2 pro 1 slow he raced the Foxhills GP rode Monday, rode Tuesday, raced a race in Wales Wednesday, rode Thursday, flew to Locket Friday and raced the GP.. That dude is not hanging them up anytime soon haha

It isn't far fetched to say that, if De Wolf can start the season healthy and stay healthy, he will make the next step into his career. Vialle was doing more than OK till that hard crash in the French Grand Prix, so if he can stay healthy, who knows...

Also we don't know how good Farres will be on the 450 bike, some of the MX2 talent has amazed us. We need to wait what the KTM/De Carli magic will do with Renaux and maybe if Yamaha dumps Rinaldi and twists Stars arm to deliver engines to the MXGP team we can see a revived Gajser. But at the end of the day they all have a lot of work to do if they want to battle with Herlings.

While he's still enjoying it, and (remains) Healthy and he  weighs the risks he has to take against his enjoyment of racing and the money he gets from contracting to Race, he might just be able ad a Few More Dozen Properties to his Portfolio. 

He'll be only 32 in September, He's not an old man.

I just checked the 'Free Rental' designation  - through Dutch Rent Check - of his 92 properties. 

The Dutch system  - WWS - it quite fascinating. Various levels of rental controls and specifications. Some here would, well Will rail against it - socialism! / communism! Wahhh! - but I find it interesting. Build a High Quality House, meeting various criteria through a points system, and you can charge the rent  / return on investment you want. Build to lower specs, well, you have limits on what you can charge. 

Herlings looks good!   2027 come to US for Outdoors, battle Lawrence Bro's, Deegan, Coenen, Prado.  Would be fun to watch.

The way I look at it, he has a serious business/commitment outside motocross.  His bones are made from Chalk.  He MUST walk away, focus on the rest of his life.  He's tempting fate every time he throws a leg over.   His luck will eventually run out. I hope not. The guy is at the top branch of the legend tree, nothing more to prove. 

I think with Febvre moving to Ducati, Gaijser not what he was before (getting older, less sending it) I think he has another shot at a title next year also. I don't see anyone else who has the same pace for a whole season. 

Let’s hope so. Better competition makes it more exciting. Hoping Gasjer (or rather Yamaha) can figure it out ASAP. As well as de wolf getting up to 100% and Vialle unlocking more speed. 🤞🏻

But this refined version of Herlings is actually really scary for the rest of the competition. MXdN could have been the HRC show: Herlings, the law firm, Vialle, Fernandez 

He wants records, so he will race fir years barring injury 

I hate this recent trend of trying to will a rider’s retirement into happening. They’ll hang it up when they’re ready, and only they know when that is. Enjoy em while we still can. 

He carries on, that’s why he signed a 2 year contract. 

He likes buying houses with his win bonuses and he can still win for a few more years.

He's on a good team, on a good bike, winning, and healthy, wealthy and happy - 

tough to walk away from that.

Never happen, just like with Everts 

Herlings is a massive fan of the sport. He watches everything. Knows a lot about it too. He just eats, sleeps and shits this. If he was the type to hang it up, he probably would've done so after fracturing his neck in 2023. His desire and effort to still be on top after so many years and injuries is admirable. 

It seems like he loves riding and racing more than any pro ever has. Dude lives, breathes and sleeps motocross. I doubt he'll retire in the near future, especially not while he's still winning

 I think he's much like ' Yer Maun ' in that aspect. 

In, that he just loves to Ride , and, Race.

Such a Great Human Being, was Joey!

Unfortunately, it bit Joey , but his decision, and he'd combined his love of racing, with his Wonderful Charity work.

But this ' MUST ' demand is just beyond the pale, by a poster from my neck of the woods.

None of us, have any say, or business, demanding a riders cessation of their racing .

I am just 4 miles from joeys house 

Many years ago I used to ride by at 2 in the morning ( I was young and was doing young man things). 
He was out in the small shed working away, this when he was a works Honda rider.

A friend use to go with them to Europe in his van. He couldn’t hack it, him and Robert just lived on canned beans on the move and slept in the van.

I still see MD now scooting about and he’s cut from the same cloth.

To see pictures / film of him and his mates working on , at times, the rarest of Full On Honda Works bikes, in his little garage, just showed you the reverence / trust Honda had in the little bloke.

Few, without a love / understanding of Real Roads Racing would understand that. 

Does Joey's Bar still exist?

 I've seen Michael leave rubber marks from his Front Tyre, at The Isle, he (and well, so many others)  push  it so bloody hard, like a short circuit rider, at times.

I've been to the IOM several times over the years, twice  to the NW200 on your Isle.  I'm not sure if I'll get back there though, It's got a bit expensive to go on my own wallet. Might be able to swing the Classic TT / Manx some time. 

I would agree with you because that's how us "normal average" people think and that's why we will never be THE Jeffery Herlings. Saying out loud sounds so sad and boring..........but safe and mediocre successful(relatively speaking)was our choice right?!🤣
