Carpal Tunnel Surgery, Yay or Nay

Weird they wont do both at once. Doing them separately is twice the down time, which was something i told them i wasnt willing to do. Did both of mine at the same time. I did not have trigger finger tho. I am having elbow issues now and may go in for evaluation after Lorettas. CT surgery was the best thing ive done to help myself. 

As with any procedure, different places can/will charge wildly different rates for the same thing. shop around.And make sure the Doc has good feedback ratings.

I’m just waiting on the nerve test.  Thought what I was suffering was after effect of scaphoid arthritis but doc is very sure of carpal tunnel

Wish I would have done mine 20 years ago, it's been awesome riding and sleeping without my hands going numb. I did the carpal tunnel and the ulnar transposition surgeries. Did my right arm and then left 2 weeks later. I returned to work the next day after both surgeries with common sense restrictions.

2 surgeries makes twice the amount of money vs one...

I rode my mtb bike the day before my second surgery, I waited for a month after the second one before riding. My doctor wanted the swelling to go down before I did anything with lots of vibration. Grip strength was down for 6ish months, but remember most of us riders have stronger grip than the average adult male. 2 weeks after the second surgery my weaker hand was already above the normal benchmark, and I thought it was very weak 😂. 

The 1st DR did the electric tests on both hands and not insurance covered BTW and he swore that I needed both hands done even though my right hand has never ever had any tingling or numbness. That DR office did a lot of money grabbing going on taking 18 months with my back killing me then I bailed on them after 1st of the year insurance change and they lied that the new insurance was in network when it wasn't and not covered costing me $550 out of pocket just to talk to the surgeon and after talking with him my wife and I both left thinking he was a hack and NFW was he doing it … but thats another touchy subject. 

It maybe that it’s going to be carpel + 4 fingers getting cut that they wouldn’t do both at the same time.  Its only occasional trigger finger on my right hand so I can wait on that.

Just had my left done 2 years ago.

I picked up trigger finger but it did go away then I couldn't squeeze a piece of paper  but that also on its own is gone.

My hands fell asleep riding , towards the end My hand would fall asleep on its own in the middle of the night and wake me up.

I had it done on both hands over 15 years ago. Instant relief and no issues since.

I just tried to put up 2 pictures of my Trigger Finger Ops. but, can't get them to 'take' here.

Did 3 fingers on each hand, all at the same time. Little 3 stitch scars at the base of each finger.

Worked Really well .

As did the Carpal Tunnel Surgery I had years ago on both hands - just after my 2019 post here. 

Next Hand Op: re- do my RH Thumb Reconstruction, It's Kaput, again - bugger.

Had a screw removed from one of my vertebrae last week - it was too long, and had been tearing into 'other parts' of my body for years. Fuggin' Doctors that don't use the Right Length screw for a Bloody Job ...... 🤬

I have had it done to each wrist twice. Both "open and closed" versions. The one thing not mentioned above...make sure you are not sleeping on your wrists. This is a big deal that is not always talked about!
