Didn’t think of him. A good rider no doubt, but doesn’t raise much attention compared to Febvre. I wonder how their sponsors feel regarding the tv time, social media exposure etc if the replace Febvre with for example Ruben?
I thought Vlaanderen was heading to SR Honda, but he could be heading to Fabric.
French media mentioned that Ruben Fernandez received an offer from SR Honda. He could also be a good pick for Yamaha.
Also mentioned that Farres will moving up to MXGP with Kawasaki. He tried the KX and the Yamaha.
I hope so, he´s had a bit of an off-year. But he likes Lommel and Uddevalla, so maybe he can pick up some confidence again.
Kind of interesting how his teammates at SR have usually been guys he´s battling for positions with. If Vlaanderen goes they will be riding around fighting each other almost. With that I am not saying Vlaanderen isn´t a good pick though. If he liked the SR Honda he will probably be the better rider.
Lewis reported the farres to kawi is fake news & Farres is going MXGP class on a Triumph.

Farres to Kawasaki was not a "fake news".
It was a real possibility.
came out wrong. I did not mean the possibility wasn't there but lewis claims Farres to triumph 450 done deal. Said Farres was offered a 3 year deal & Farres rode the bike too.

Yep, it was all I heard at Foxhill the other week. It'll be interesting to see who Kawi go after to replace Febvre now.
There will be some announcements later today at Lommel for a couple of other riders.
There has been talk for a while of who will go where , and over the previous few months (maybe even longer) the rumours have circulated .
Febvre to leave Kawasaki, this was rumoured in 2025 that he would go to Triumph to head up their 450 effort, back with the team he rode for when they ran the Kawasaki effort, but with no 450 team for 2026, he stayed put and their was talk again for 2027, but now with Ducati in the picture, suddenly there are more bidders for a rider of Roman's calibre.
If Febvre goes to Triumph, Farres to Kawasaki happens, Triumph have to step up and pay, and Farres can get a way better deal by filling the seat in green( as a possible MX2 Champ) than staying put.
But when Febvre goes to Ducati, while that leaves Farres with the possibility of still going there, it leaves Triumph with no rider at the level they require, and suddenly they have to compete on salary with Kawasaki to keep the guy who looks like bringing them an MX2 WC, rather than seeing him walk . Granted, he will never carry the #1 plate, but imagine he goes 450 and does well, while Triumph have had to hire a lesser rider.
Haarup and Farres is a great pairing for MXGP, i dont see anyone else who has a proven record that justifies being there instead.
Is Jonass out at Kawi?
I remember seeing an interview where he said if he didn’t have decent pay and a good bike for next year he’d retire. Gatedrop I think?
De Wolf and Everts have extended their contracts with Husqvarna through 2027.

Well, to get "a decent pay and a good bike" you'll have to perform at a consistent base at first. And that's what he's been lacking the past years. He hasn't finished in the top 10 in the final standings for the past 4 years. He has to understand he can't remain a full factory rider without a paycut with those results.
If Jonass takes another paycut he's going to pay to ride.
When was the last time Jonas finished a heat without falling off his bike?
Jonas has to ride flat-out to contend for a top-5 finish, and more often than not, things go wrong.
I think this is a really nice move by Husky. Kay and Liam and really good for the brand and I fully expect them to be at the front of the field for the duration of their contracts.
Paul Malin hinted yesterday about some big move being signed at Lommel weekend. Anything new?
I am interested in MX2 grid... so for 2027 the factory seats should look like this afaik:
KTM DeCarli: Lata
KTM Smets: Laengenfelder (if not champ in 2026*)
Husky: Everts
HRC: J.M. Reisulis
Kawi: Valin + Garcia
Triumph: McLellan + ?
Yamaha: ? + ?
Ducati: ?
*edited
Why Lata is going to (or deserving a ride with) De Carli is beyond me. He has been underperforming all season long, clearly falls short against the top 8 of the current season aswell as in speed as in results and hasn't improved at all compared to last season.
Pit Row
idk. I think that Valin and J.M. Reisulis would be better and bit younger alternatives imo. Valin is proven winner and J.M. Reisulis needs a bit more fitness to spank the rest of the field and score his first win.
De Carli will bring the magic!
With Triumph most likely lining up 2 MXGP riders (Haarup + Farres) it’s not too far fetched to believe McLellan will be the sole MX2 rider, especially if the MX2 program will not be carried out by another team (like Hutten)
With Nestaan, DeCarli, KTM Factory, HRC and Ducati only fielding 1 MX2 rider it doesn’t look particulary great for the 2027 season, especially as there are barely any real satellite teams left (Dixon 1 rider, Maddii 1 rider and Sixtyseven 1 rider currently) where TM is no where to be seen any longer.
I really hope the factoryteams can step up and provide at least 2 seats per team or if Infront and FIM finally get their heads out of their ass and seriously cut the amount or rounds to a maximum of 16, a couple more…..
I think for most European rounds there will be a good group of lets say sattelite teams and privateer riders to have a strong top 20.
So from Dixon, 67 (Smulders), Maddi, Van Venrooy, SB/Walvoort, Chambers (Valk & Collmer), Gundersen, Rossi, Kees, Gaspari, Brookes, Askew etc.
Hopefully some other guys from EMX250 step up as privateer or with a small or sattelite team. Skovbjerg, Fredsoe, Owens, Reichl, Frisk, Ernecker, Escandell, Fueri, Leok, Monne etc all have spend multiple years in emx250 now.
Reisulis to Gariboldi Honda appears to be unlikely, now...
Cant disagree with any of that.
Lata and Zanchi seem to have both stalled out in MX2.
For me, the younger Resulis, and Mikula seem to be the guys on the up, Karlis Resulis hasnt been as good as i expected, and backs up the fact that no rider winning an EMX series has ever won MX2.
Billy Askew still has 4 years ( i think) on a 250 and has been really good since mid season, and has potential , but i dont think he can land a seat anywhere else just yet. Would be nice to think he could get a Factory seat, McClellan was still a way off where he is now when he got his shot, maybe they help him out for the final few rounds with parts?
There is no shortage of MX2 talent, but there isnt enough seats to house them all.
I would think Askew best option is with his current team. What Askew has shown in EMX250 isnt comparable to Camdens '22 season (and he had 5 years left after that).
Hopefully 67 keeps Skovbjerg for MX2 and the Cat moto riders Fredsoe and Owens also somehow move up although i dont really see where.
It seems the Reisulis Bros will finally stay with Yamaha for the 2027 season...
If it comes to fruition that would mean that for one mx2 factory seat in Red Bull KTM DeCarli & one mx2 factory seat in Gariboldi HRC Honda are following contestants:
Valerio Lata
Cas Valk
Julius Mikula
Noel Zanocz
KTM : Lata and Lagenfelder
HRC Honda : Mikula and Grau
Would that mean that HRC will have only 2 guys in MXGP (since the rule of teams having 4 riders max in total)? That means that Fernandez is free agent?
Fernandez is out. I believe he has an offer from Yamaha and Honda SR.
