Seeing that old picture of him on the (TMR?) Honda makes me wonder what his career, and the sport in general would be like if the riders made more money from the race promoters, and less from the teams they ride for. Didn't he get 6th in his 450/pro debut on that bike? That would be kinda cool if bigger 250 age guys, or privateers could do pretty good financially in 450 without a factory contract.

I’m real curious to know how Pat got by for 20 years without a legit tag and registration for that truck if you still had the title and no lien was filed? Seems that if you still had the title, he couldn’t have done any sort of registration.

I know Mike pretty well and he doesn’t have a deceitful bone in his body, off of a motorcycle I don’t think he knows how to be a bad person. I would say everything he has done wrong on a motorcycle was a byproduct of the pressure he felt by Tony.
Mike has a kid like innocence about him, and if I’m guessing he probably didn’t even think what he was doing was a problem. If the guy wasn’t a former city official who threw a fit, Mike probably would’ve been fine.

I was a dummy and left the plates on the truck so he could take it for a day. He said he'd stop by the next morning to pay it off. The tag was almost expired when I sold it. He was never stopped I guess. I sold him the truck with $1500 down...he still owed me $1k. I kept the title in my name because he said he'd be back the next day to pay it off... and he skipped out for a year down south somewhere and then returned. But...I got my $1k and he is probably in jail. He was kind of a scammer from what I found out. When he bumped the cop and they took him down, that was friggin awesome. The boys weren't playing around with him. He went down hard.
