The kids are saying, who and what? 🤣
I’ve been wondering for a while, what exactly does O’Show contribute to team Lawrence?
Not an O’Mara bashing thread, or intended disrespect in any way- I’m just wondering what he brings.
Sure, fitness he can teach, and keep them accountable (just like Aldon) but I’m not convinced 1980s-90s riding techniques can offer much in 2026.
Wow!!!! Like WOW!!!! Are you for real??? LOL

Technique, analysis, relatability, mentality to name a few. He's obviously damn good at it too. He gets praise from everyone he works with.
Explain to us the difference between 80's technique and 2026
In detail...
One of his primary functions is to act as a social shield to shit like this.
He guards the Lawrence boy's boots to make sure nobody craps in them.
Not many will understand that reference.
I think you gave the strongest argument for 80/90s training techniques. Why would they need him if it didn’t matter, if he wasn’t making a difference. O’mara has championships in both MX and MTB and has incredible technique. You can go to Aldon for 200k and learn to ride a road bike on a starvation diet between motos, or get advice from a legend. You choose.
O Show was one of the Honda super powerhouse teams with great strengths that he and David Bailey trained together pushing each other along the way. They had crazy endurance.
Ask the GOAT.
O’mara brought “cycling fitness” and Aldon Baker to MX………
He is the Lawrence camps secret weapon when it comes to body recovery
You would be surprised at the understanding of how the bike should be ridden and setup by the legends of the 80's. They also trained like crazy. Those guys are like treasures that are worth their weight in gold.
Even so much of the basics about riding to balance the bike and counter what it is doing as well as clutch control were taught by Gary Bailey in the 80's. Those guys like David Bailey, Ward, Johnson, O'mara and probably Hannah really understood the bike and how to set it up. And they were fit.
If the lawrence brothers give him a lot of the credit for their success, why would you doubt it?
It's extensive. Balls of feet, toes in, back concave down, shoulders rolled forward, whips, standup more in corners, and they brake now while leaned then in the 80s.
Pit Row
here is a couple to start
Bob Hannah rode on the balls of his feet
Marty Tripes stood through corners
Anybody that ordered boot gators back in the day knew they reduced lap times dramatically....
Bob was mostly known for both feet off the pegs! But I agree he was a bit of a pioneer in that. But unlike the Bubba scrub that everyone immediately adopted, balls of feet took much longer for the masses to adopt.
Marty Tripes is famous for winning a race with a broken foot peg. That must of made standing everywhere tough! Yes I agree he stood more than most, but as I'm sure we both know, riders back then had a lot more variation in technique than we have now. So while a few guys may have used or pioneered techniques common today, it wasn't the cookie cutter everyone is taught this before they reach the D class widespread agreed upon standard like now.
That was off the top of my head, I'm sure we could find more with time to think about it

Johnny brings his understanding of the body and how it works, and how it’s supposed to work in conjunction with a motorcycle. Understanding what muscles to train and why you’re training them.
I’m not going to say to much here, but Hunter was on a struggle bus when he first got here, he got tired rather easily and got hurt a few times. Johnny came along, watched him train and ride, basically analyzed him. He suggested they see a Dr to get his blood levels tested to see what was lacking and for any kind of allergies, food included. They found something wrong with him that took about 18 months to get over and get his strength back. It’s something he still struggles with, but it’s controlled. He also helped Jett focus, something Dazy couldn’t do. When Jett was 16 he was like a Hurd of cats.
Another thing about O’Show, he taught Aldon everything he knows about training a motorcross rider.
Besides all that, I don’t know what he brings either.
Qualudes!😂
