Tomac Back this Weekend!

Which part?  I said win a moto or ride around in 10th…he rode around in 10th (roughly)…and neither would surprise me…you said I’m tripping?  I was right…

I hoped he’d battle Hunter and Jett….whats wrong with wanting more guys to battle them?

I’ve been on the bandwagon since his rookie season, but he should’ve just stayed home.

Tomac: 

"It's good to get my first full Pro Motocross race weekend of the season under my belt. Pala didn’t go according to plan, so being able to get two solid motos done today, I’m happy. Obviously, there’s plenty of room for improvement, but I will do some testing with the team this week and be better at Washougal."

1. He's missed a ton of time since his sx injuries
2. He's on a brand new bike (that is wildly different than anything he has been on before).
3. He's coming back from a gnarly injury. 
4. He's never come back from an injury at this age. 

If we're lucky, he reaches the podium before the end of the outdoor season and he takes a championship run in sx. 

I thought he did awesome! Super smart Vet ride out there, taking what the track and his bike/body were giving him and finishing both motos. Eli knows what he’s doing and will certainly improve next weekend. 

Sadly, we have seen Tomac win his last race of his career this past SX season. I said it in a thread I started. He’s one of my all time favorites but we won’t see him win again. 

If Elito Mac was going to roll around like this with Marchbanks able to just blow past him, it was too early to come back.  I sure hope this is not a sign of things to come.  The guy at the beginning of SX is still in there.  That was only a few months ago.  Can Eli get back, or will Elito remain in control?

he just needs his 22 yz450 back. He looked so good on that machine but it kinda seems like it’s been mostly down hill since 

Geez, tough crowd.  After the run of luck he has had with not being able to finish races, can’t we be happy he still has the desire to put his body on the line?  Many of you all had concluded that he should have called it a day after pala lol Surely today can just be called a successful day, move onto next week.

Tomac rode like the veteran he is. Very smart..didn't push...rode within himself and finished top 10. That's a big win. New bike, first race in months...he did great. 

It was his first race back. He gets a pass. Talk shit after this weekend. 

I suspected 5-8th place and he was a little further back. New bike outdoors, very little time because of injury, yeah this all sounds about right. The pace is high at the front. 

Welp, I was way off. 

Father time has caught up to Eli, as far as contending with the top guys in the class goes.  

Why does it seem like if you are not in the top 5, the rest of the riders should just stay home? 
I remember a quote Dungey said 3 years ago when he came out of retirement and was running 5-6 each moto, he mentioned that the pace up front reached a new level. 
The guys in 40th place would go to most any local track and put on a clinic. 

Blaming the bike setup has become the biggest bullshit excuse for riding poorly.  And the moto media has really pushed this to become acceptable.  Sometimes you gotta just outride the other guys.  Simple as that.  

I thought ET3 would be a few places higher but he is scoring points for the playoffs
