An old straight rhythm popped up on my YouTube the other day and man it was a good racing. I can’t get my or daughter to sit through a whole SX/MX race without getting bored. They watched the whole thing and loved it.
Side note RD5 looked absolutely amazing on a 2 stroke.

with the current landscape of the sport as scheduled with the SMX playoffs & a lot more off season races, I don’t see RBSR ever coming back , same with the monster cup , but just an idea maybe in the future SMX could convert their “regular season “ races in the form of mlb & nba , maybe right before outdoors have an all star weekend where the racers can either just chill or participate in fun events like RBSR etc…..
I would love to see a throwback 2 stroke RBSR with bikes from the last gen that all manufacturers were making them so that the playing field is equal and fun. The last race was dominated by the modern YZ and KTM bikes, and any other bikes were disadvantaged - and not everyone is a Yamaha or KTM rider
But I agree with dhp_mma94 - there’s already a lot of races in a season with SMX
Maybe as an event for former pro stars, but no, the racing season is already too long for current contenders.
Golden marketing opportunity for Kawasaki to showcase their new KX327!

$189.95 - $239.95
Can you add an I’m gay and like 2 strokes option? Thanks
Same thing will happen to smx within the next 3-5 years
Only if it's part of xgames.
That’s basically what it was anyway. Sure a few current guys went out but there were more ex pros and privateers than top 10 guys
Probably never coming back. But, there sb a few rounds of SX Seniors and OD Seniors for past champs/pros. Must be over 40, held a Pro license and raced previous SX and OD Nationals.
Make the SMX final a straight rhythm.
I love the MX All Star Weekend idea! Make it low key and allow former pro's as well. Show the behind the scenes grab-assing, ect... Would be awesome watching the current and former greats letting their hair down and having some fun! Include MC's holeshot challenge in there too.
Sir, you asking too much, sorry.
As I mentioned before, there are simply too many events on the calendar to justify adding another one. That said, I do think there's an opportunity and an appetite for an "All-Star"-type event, just not at the expense of an additional race. I also believe there's a world where the SMX events should be different from the traditional Supercross and Motocross races they're currently running. Fans already get 28 of those throughout the year. SX/MX is one of the few forms of motorsport that could successfully pull off a truly different format, but I guess we tend to default to what we already know.
The event was never intended to be an "old pros" race, but those were the riders who were allowed to show up and help fill the gate—which wasn't a bad thing at all. RV vs. RD was incredible, and Josh Grant vs. RV was a blast as well. Over a short lap, those veterans could still give the younger guys a run for their money. Red Bull always kept the event open to any top pro who wanted to race. You can thank the other OEMs and energy drink companies that blocked those opportunities. I remember having to call Rockstar and practically beg them to let some of their riders come out. Pretty silly, really.
It was a fun event, and like everything else, what was once old can become new again. Who knows? Maybe with Kawasaki's renewed interest in two-strokes, Honda will bring one back as well. And if we can get Jett and Hunter on two-strokes, I could definitely see us dusting off the old event playbook.
They also didn't have restrictions on bike model year or even TP's Suzuki/Honda hybrid.
Give me any chance to watch Hanny on a setup like that and I'm in
I think it could come back in some way, I dont see Red Bull putting it on as a stand alone event again. But I could see it coming back as part of the Xgames, or some other event. Now I have heard rumors that the organizers of the Lone Star Rally in Galveston, were looking at adding some kind of moto event along the beach and a straight rhythm would make a lot of sense since they have a sea wall.
Can’t see it ever coming back. Pity as it was an end of season bit fun for everyone..
