When do you think we will see updated Triumphs? Sounds like they have a great base, just need to iron out a few things like clutches and transmissions.

Their 250's are great and I'm guessing a few minor tweaks here and there.

We have no idea about their 450 program until they recruit a top 5 rider. Haarup is currently 8th is in USA Championship which is a pretty good indicator of the performance of the bike. I think in the hands of Sexton they will be contesting for podiums.

Those Triumph bikes are good. End of story.

Triumph needs to adopt the volt yellow and use black as the highlights.

Like, scrubbing and putting power to the ground? He scrubs but I have never known his as an exceptional scrubber. The bike light and nimble?

Like the bike laying on the ground while they carry him off the track.

Like hes done on the last 3 "uncooperative" teams bikes

Well. Maybe they are good if you compare them to 2004 kxf/rmz 250. I dont have one but I have heard that triumps are somewhat problematic.

Why a bike with transmission issues with very low hours made it to production?

Its a bike made thailand? It should be priced same as kove or zxmoto. Maybe even lower.

From what I’ve heard:

250’s have notchy shifting that a Yamaha shift lever mostly remedies. Clutch is so so but the latest recall update is probably adequate but the Hinson solves it completely if you don’t mind spending the money.

450s have hit and miss transmissions and sub optimal suspension valving. Most people get their suspension done anyway. There is a fix for the transmission if you are comfortable splitting the cases.

However, most people say they handle very well and have good power.

You’ve pretty much hit the nail on the head regarding the Triumphs. I’m still irritated with them about the 450 trans problem as the 250 is such a good bike minus the clutch issues (which seem a lot more rare than the trans issue after the 2 recalls)

I never had a problem with my ‘05 RMZ-250.

Anyone heard who has the suspension dialed for these bikes? Specifically the 450. I’ve heard conflicting reports. Some say too soft, some too hard. All reputable companies. Just wondering if it’s an east/west coast difference in tracks that is causing the disconnect.

Does anyone know who has spent considerable time with these vs just a semi-generic setting. I bet any reputable shop could just look at the stock valving on paper and make a good adjustment. I’m just wondering if there is anyone that has peeled the next layer of the onion.

All of the problems with 2004 KXF/RMZ 250 were  fixed for the 2005 model year. There were a number of problems related to valve seats, radiators and cap, transmission gears, oil filter housing, etc. I never had a single issue with my 2005 KXF. I installed an Athena 290F kit and fixed the terrible forks. Loved it!

Same I put my 05 and 06 through hell and never had an issue.

Still to this day one of my favorite bikes

Guess I was lucky. My 26 450 has been a great bike. No shifting or clutch problems. I read that others had issue with the transmission but mines been fine. 36hrs on the bike without an issue....although it has broke a couple foot peg springs which is weird. Change oil every 3-4 hrs, keep air filter clean.

For 27 what I'd like to see: hopefully a little more attention to detail in regard to the transmission so it's not an issue for some people. The suspension valving needs a bit better setup. Once it breaks in a bit it's too soft, valving needs to be a bit firmer. Hopefully a 50 tooth sprocket and a bit more exciting mapping.

On mine I put in the Hinson clutch pack, it's an improvement. 50 tooth sprocket and had the suspension firmed up which is a big improvement. I have the unlocked ecu from XPR. That was a nice improvement as well. Bike has been solid.

I went to a demo day back in April and tested all the 250 and 450 models. They were good bikes with smooth power delivery but I will say myself and multiple other riders were having a little bit of trouble with the transmission. Especially getting it into neutral. Also had a few flameouts on the mx 450.

When I first got mine and took it out for a break in ride the idle was set really low from the shop. It would stall pretty easily. I bumped up the idle and never stalled it again. Neutral can be tough, especially when new. Mine got easier after a couple oil changes and I noticed as well to have the clutch all the way in. Don't really have issues now finding neutral but I will say it's not as smooth as a Honda.

My TF450X reminded me of my KTM 350 when trying to find neutral. Absolutely miserable. Something I did notice is the bottom end of the 450 seems to use the same cases as the 250. Which makes me wonder if someone could slap a 350 in it. 🤔

It was only the 450RC we were having difficulty with flameouts, but every bike was nearly impossible to find neutral on. We eventually gave up trying and when we were done with our 3 test laps we’d just leave it in first and turn the bike off for the next rider.
