Today is a massively tough day for us.
My wife has volunteered at the shelter and even been the president of a group of short term fosters so we have fostered many many dogs through our home in the last 15 years. 7 years ago while I was away at the Atlanta Supercross She was at the shelter desk when someone brought in a little black puppy and due to Parvo where puppies are always immediately placed in to fosters she took her home for us to “foster” She called me and told me about her my wife named Ladybug and I immediately knew we had our foster fail #3 Bug was with our other 2 dogs being well trained until we had to make the tough decisions for both of them.
We were not aware that LadyBug has been in so much pain and it has progressed extremely fast in the last 2-3 weeks from what I thought was a simple sprain with a little limping then what I thought was swelling that I had been icing to a 1 x 3/4 large bump on her first knee and its been getting noticeably larger every day.
We just returned home after 10 days in the RV with Ladybug going up to Virginia for a relative’s wedding and now back home. We went to her Vet yesterday and found that it is a very fast moving bone cancer that will quickly spread and be affecting her lungs and heart.
A tough but necessary decision by both of us today to stop her pain and say good bye to her today in 4 hours at 5
Sorry to hear about Ladybug Lump. I had to make the same call for my last best friend just over a year ago and still think about her and miss her every day.

Oh man, I'm just reading this right now at about the zero hour. Sorry, Lumpy. I wish dogs could live forever.
This all came around very quick but it was the right time and we were both having the same thoughts with out even talking about it. We both are now relieved that she is out of pain in a better place but we still want to cry.
The only option was amputation and kemo that might give her 3 months and with her already having both knees on her back legs getting huge surgery’s that both took her 3 months of recovery with almost no movement each time there was no way she could do that.
Yep...good on ya for giving her so much love and a great life.
Oh, man, sorry to hear about Ladybug.
She reminds me of my sweet Bailey who I had to put down in October. She helped me so much during my initial Grieving, when I lost my wife as she slept on the bed right next to me.
I miss them both tremendously.......😢

Mans best friend, we do not deserve the love, devotion, and forgiveness of dogs. They are constantly a role model, best friend, joy, you name it. Sorry for your loss Lumpy, it never gets easy and always hurts. But rest assured, it appears you gave ladybug the life deserved

I had to make the same call a little over a year and a half ago for my best pal. That’s the toughest thing I’ve ever gone through, but it was the right call. The only thing I would change is I might have done it sooner for his sake. I think i might have waited a bit longer than i should have, but for me, not him.
I think y’all are in a better spot as far fostering and adopting, but I wasn’t and waited. I recently adopted a senior dog that was kind of in a bad spot, and man I couldn’t be happier. I keep telling everyone I’m not sure who’s more grateful, him or me! He is just a great dog.
He may not be here for a long time, but I’ll damn sure make it a good time for him 😎

Sorry to hear Lumpy and I feel your pain. There is nothing worse than saying goodbye to pet. It hurts just remembering the times I went through it.

I went to the casino last night to try and unwind and Kathy mentioned to me just now that since We moved in our house in 2007 and we have never been completely alone at home without a cat or dog … until now
I hustled and mowed the lawn and it hint me while doing it that I will never be doing the poop walk with the scoop bucket and Bug always giving me a fresh one.
