anyone else feel like all knee braces suck?

I use to use evs RS7 knee braces and they use to wrap around my knee to the point where the hinge was behind my knee hinge point . This would help when I squeeze the bike my knee seats into the brace and doesn't push out the brace. All the new braces I've tried have their squeezing pads/hinges exactly on the centre of where your knee hinges. What happens is when you squeeze hard the brace rotates outward ever so slightly and this squeeze area on the inner knee part of the braces pushes forward. inwash they would make some wedge pad for the inner part of the brace where your knee hinges so that the pad sits behind the brace hinge and your knee pushes this plus the brace into the bike. Anyone else have this same issue?

20% protection 80% psychological protection…. But I wear them….Pods are about as comfortable as a knee brace can get IMO….

I’m not sure all knee braces suck but some do.  I ran through a few before I found what worked for me.  EVS web braces are solid.

I hated the Astrisk carbon braces, light...yes, but really uncomfortable to wear and the hyper extension chips kept popping out.

Even super glue wouldn't keep them in.

I'm on the mobius now and I really like them, they feel comfortable and provide enough protection.

I have a couple miniscus tears where my knee would buckle in certain situations, the braces do keep my knee in place....and they have been tested. Repeatedly.

I have roughly 2 maybe 3 years on them now and I plan to replace them with a new pair in the near future.

This is what I meant with newer braces that I hate. You don't only squeeze into the bike with your knees but you also hold on from forward acceleration. The forward acceleration makes them roll as the bike pulls your leg forward. The older braces I had wrapped around enough so they don't roll off the squeeze point.

I have tried them all from big dollar ones to the cheap ones. I'm back to my compression knee sleeves and the TP199's. I feel zero difference. My knees hurt before and they hurt after riding...or is that age? 😂

Yes all knee braces suck. The most likely knee risk while riding is twisting, and they give no protection against that movement.

You also have an Increased risk of breaking a femur or tibia because the braces create unnatural pressure points.

But atleast they are comfortable and give you more dexterity while riding!  😅

Just like helmets or boots one guy loves a brand, one guy hates em. Everyone is built differently and comfortable in different setups. I love my Asterisk Carbon cells with the tether system. Especially the updated webbing design.

Yes, 100%. Even "custom fitted" CTi braces sucked. This is why i switched to Leatt Dual Axis knee pads, best decision ive made

I have the early version of that guard and the elastic didn't really last. I like the initial fit but now they slip down. The velcro patches don't line up anymore..

I had the older Asterisk Cells with the elastic and cords and they were the most uncomfortable braces but saved me from injury in a crash that cracked the frame.

Now, I have the Pod K4's with the individual straps and much better comfort and don't slide down my legs like the Asterisk did. Pretty comfy to wear all day, actually.
