lol idk what is wrong with you guys.  It’s effing Jett Lawrence dude. He’s a god on a dirtbike. If you truly expected deegan to beat Jett straight up you’re delusional. I was very impressed with how well he kept up with Jett though. It’s unreal how he can stay even close the way he rides vs how Jett rides.

If hunter started 17th or whatever deegan did you would have seen a pretty similar race to what deegan and Jett put down. Stop hating so much. It was a very solid first showing and there’s one thing you can’t deny and that is deegan will put in the work. It’ll be some time but he will be up there.

Waved goodbye? Did we watch the same race? Deegan was on his ass almost the entire moto both motos. 25th and 17th and running up the pack finishing literally right behind him both motos. Who else has been able to do that?

I just don’t understand how you can be into moto enough to be on a forum, but also truly believe that was a bad first 450 race. It’s like you guys are so blinded by being haters or you just don’t know motocross at all.

deegs wasn't on his ass.....after he was passed by Jett he was not a factor, nor was he close in the second moto. Jett hasn't raced the whole year and didn't break a sweat passing Deegs. give me a break with that bs about being on his ass. what were you watching fanboy. btw you notice that Hunter and Prado smoked your boy by 25 seconds?

Dude what???? He was + time to 1.5-4 seconds behind Jett the entire moto 1 running through the pack. He was literally 2-3 seconds behind Jett for almost the entirety of moto 1 and going through traffic. Give it up dude. He rode good.

By your dumb logic Jett also finished 20 seconds behind hunter moto 1. Do you also think Jett is unable to run up front?

@Wo Phat would you put all your money on deegan not getting an overall podium this year? Or even a moto podium?

If the answer to that is no, and he does get a podium even if for a moto, is that not a good rookie year? Do you not think he has room to grow and won’t do it? Never would I imagine people saying going from like 25th to 5th in a first pro 450 motocross race a bad showing lmao. This forum is crazy.

I don't believe any of us deny Deegans talent, fitness or dedication.
Yes he makes money off running his mouth and stirring the pot. With that being said, you just appreciate how the Lawrence boys take the high road.
In fact, I don't recall any present or former top level rider acting this way.

I bet Brian and Haiden sit down on Monday nights with a bag of popcorn and read these threads and just kill themselves laughing. Everyone just playing right into their hands. This is WHY they do it. Cause for some fucked up reason this = $$$. These threads are getting pretty predictable, still hilarious to read through though.

Im coining a new phrase, "Deeg-o-vision". Its like the opposite of beer goggles, just much more powerful. Example in a sentence - "I cant believe how bad my deeg-o-vision was after rd 1".

Yes, all their 'plans' might make them money, but they clearly don't make Donger good enough to beat the top guys in the 450 class.

What’s worse, a dad hyping up his son, or a guy spending time editing multiple photos of a guys lips to post on an Internet forum.

Bryan seems to be doing pretty stellar as a father of some very successful kids. He’s there everyday for them and could definitely be doing much worse things with all his money and fame

Very True.
Herlich has some anger issues. Imagine if Herlich put that nasty passion into his riding, he’d be lining up next week and bring tons of fans to the race.

Reading through theses endless threads about the Deegan shenanigans,i have to say that he rode great for having such bad starts and finishing in the top 5.I am not a fan of Deegan but i appreciate his efforts for his debut in the 450s!

I thought he finished about where I figured. I had him 4th in fantasy and he got 5th, which is a very solid ride.

As far as the banter etc, it's fine but the response can't be "it is just for content/clicks/entertainment, when the guy beats you. If you come in running your mouth,  RIP Jett on the shirt and whatever, and then lose to him at 70% healthy, then you got humbled. First race or not, you take it on the chin. That's how it works. You can't walk it back after the fact. But I guess that doesn't register with ppl who grew up in social media culture.

agreed. no matter how he spins it, he went to bed knowing he was right with Jett, passed him, and then got dropped by 6+ secs - TWICE. Deegs could actually earn some fans if he'd say things like "Well, I know now the speeds these guys are running and they are no joke! I'll have to dig deep and find more if I wanna hang, so congrats to the winner!" instead he applauds himself for the amazing way he passed jett for 2 turns only to eat roost for the rest of the race.

Started 4-5 positions behind Jett each moto and finished 1 behind him in both. Will he beat Jett? No way. But the kid can ride.

Jett is riding at 70% of his possibilities, he need to re-learn how to place his feet and use his feet because his ankle is very limited in rotation. It even sounded like the limitations from a fused ankle. That is a question @ML512 or @LewisPhillips should ask Jett: Did they fused your ankle or is it the hardware that makes some movements hard...

70 percent? Same with JT I believe on the broadcast saying hes at 80% or whatever. That means if he rides at 100% he will be like 20 seconds a lap faster. Absolutely foolish and I cringe when I hear these "estimates" of pace and ability. Massively discrediting to the other riders at the same time too.

Its 80% of his health/fitness/healing, not 80% of his full speed.

Considering Haiden started as far back as he did both Motos which required him to come through the pack and restrict his line choices, 25 seconds back is really not all that bad. If he manages to pull off a good start, he should be able to hang right in there.  Pala just showed us that Haiden has podium level speed and we shouldn’t be all too surprised if he racks up a few of them this season.

Let’s be honest, take away the stupid T-shirt he wore, lame ass jewelry, and considering the class of guys he’s now racing against, Haiden did phenomenal for his first ever 450 Motocross race.

Yeah I think that's my issue. He was quoted after the race and said "all hype aside, that was a good 1st round." Lol no, you don't get to say that after running your mouth and  driving the hype like he was coming in to take over. So any "haters" have every right to call him out on that, after getting beat. It's just part of the game when you want to be the McGregor, Deion Sanders type of athlete. When you lose after all the "look at me" stuff, leading up to it, you will be criticized.

Take that side of it away though, he rode really well. Under normal circumstances,  that's a good ride To build on. But he chose the path that he's on, so if he doesn't beat Jett and dominate the class, he's in for some ppl clowning him on it.

That is not the issue. The issue is/was that all the 38 fanboys said he will wax the field, Jett included.

Jett is an alien on a dirt bike. If he is fit no one can touch him.

If the theatrics and marketing hype derail your whole understanding of the actually racing and sucks you in, that’s on you. A reasonable motocross fan sees a likely solid result for a rookie. The only ones rewriting it are the haters and the extremists on both sides, ironically both pretty much doing the exact thing they claim to “hate.” And at this point, both sides are annoying as fuck. Across the motocross internet not just this site it’s mostly Deegan talk, a little Jett noise, and barley any acknowledgment of the guy who actually obliterated the field. . .
