Deegz did about as well as I thought he would. I'm far from his biggest fan, but the kid has serious speed for sure! I would respect him more if he was more humble and didn’t do all the MMA smack talk, but these zoomer kids got raised by social media, and I guess this is the end result of that ,whether we like it or not.
I would not have been surprised if he either won or podiumed, he is that good.
But with his and Brian’s trashy behavior I’m glad that he didn’t. They are insufferable enough as it is and he needs to eat some humble pie for as long as it takes for him to mature.
I can’t stand what they are doing to the sport I love. I don’t need the made up drama for likes and clicks to enjoy moto and man I wish that media could stop milking this cow and feeding the trash group of the ”fans”.
I’m no fan of Deeg’s hype and trash talk but I think he did well today. I was surprised that Jett dropped him at the end of the motos when Jett is clearly not 100%. Jett can barely walk and dropped him.
Deegs will get better. I think he will modify his style - he seems very heavy on the bike whereas Jett and Hunta float.

I think Deegan did good. I'm sure he will be top 5 in the standings by the end of the series, maybe even top 3.
To me it seems like he doesn't have the Yamaha 250 edge, all 450s are powerful enough.
The sad part is, my 14 year old son thinks it's awesome. No matter how much my wife and I tell him that Deegan is a douche bag he still loves him
I was a little underwhelmed. He was solid, he did pass Jett in his first ever 450 moto, even if it was short lived. We knew the starts would be the biggest problem, gotta work on those. Made more passes than anyone else. I can’t be mad that he finished right behind the Jett in both motos. Looked like he fits right in with the front runners and will only get better.
I accept none of the 1 leg excuses from the Jett fans. None of us know how he’s feeling. If you’re healthy enough to race, then you don’t get any asterisks on your results. They’re not marathon runners, he looked totally fine on the bike to me, just rusty. His twin brother and George stepped it up and smoked him along with JCoop in moto 1. Good thing he didn’t finish 1 spot back in either moto or the shirt would’ve been totally fair. All I know is we never have to fucking hear about him being undefeated there ever again.
Or better parents, or better team management.

I wouldn't worry. I was the biggest J Law fan when I was that age and I out grew it at some point.

You can’t act like an ass, talk shit on riders, bring their partners into it and not crack a podium with no crashes, and take the humble learning route.
He had to win or podium at minimum to get away with it. He failed.
Anyone else, that’s a decent rookie start. He passed Jett, Jett passed him straight back and walked away. A guy who hasn’t raced for 6 months and is clearly not 100%.

This slamming of Deegs parents thing is a little weird to me..
None of us actually know what they are really like, but if you take it for what it is, they are a very tight family, raised successful kids. The family is still together and they are all supportive of each other. you don’t get to be in Haidens position without good guidance.
You don’t have to like Brian Deegan or the metal mulisha, But as a family they seem to be fine, I don’t understand why they always get dragged into it..
Many of the riders come from broken families, Jason Anderson had domestic abuse issues, RV’s family relationship was a mess at one point. From the outside looking in the Deegans are doing just fine.
If he wasn’t running his mouth off one would have to say well done. A 450 throttle doesn’t give a s..t what your saying or who your insulting pre race. He did ok but didn’t live up to the self initiated hype. Lucas Coenen is younger and was far more impressive on his move up to the big bikes without the mouthpiece antics. Hes only a kid so nothing to get worked up about but it was good to see Jett with a dodgy foot and arm pump put him in touch with reality.
Even Deegan didn’t think he’d beat Jett. Rather, “imagine if I did that in my rookie year.”

He stayed with Jett for most of both motos. Very impressed with his speed. He will only improve. Scary really. This will be a rivalry for the ages. Glad I’m here to see it.
If there is one thing we have learned Deegan is good at this past 2 years, what is it? I am sure there will be childish sarcastic responses, but if you can answer this question with sincerity, you get my point.
