As Hunter said after losing the sx title; he feels no shame because he knows he gave it 100%.  A rookie getting a podium or top 5 is hardly considered a failure, and there is a difference between wanting your guy to win and enjoying it when someone else doesn’t win. 

The anti Deegan crowd seems to get particular joy if Deegan doesn’t win (and some would probably enjoy seeing him get injured) as if their self worth depends on him losing. 

Good luck to all the riders today. Plenty of racing over the course of the season for riders to improve.
