Wow !!!
What a damn gut punch.
RIP Champ.
fuckin' insane. i just was reading a headline today that he was in critical condition with a severe illness... i feel for his family and friends.
Godspeed
Seems like meningitis for him to have gone down so quickly.
Same thing as Jeff Beck.
Not feeling well, to hospitalization, to passing within an incredibly short time.
Edit:
Just read where he'd been feeling bad for a few weeks. And had met with a doctor at the Watkins glen race.
Wow, only 41 y.o., I could have sworn he was older than that. God bless and RIP.

Horrible news. About fell out of my chair when a friend texted me about an hour ago. He was supposed to race with his son here locally at Hickory Speedway tonight.
Unreal. Kyle Busch was the first person my dad legitimately became a fan of after Dale Sr. passed, we had M&Ms everything. He wasn’t for everyone but he had to be one of the headstrong competitors NASCAR has had in the last few decades. Feel absolutely horrible for his family and young son that’s coming up through the ranks. They were doing a lot of racing together.
RIP to a great champion. 41 is way too young.
Story I'm hearing is fluid in lungs, pneumonia type situation. I've quit watching Nascar for a few years, doesnt change the fact this dude is gone way too young. Amazing talent, feel terrible for his family.
one of the best to ever do it, from winning the truck race last friday to this, horrible for his family,
RIP Rowdy,
One of the coolest race winning traditions ever. Always loved seeing Kyle give the crowd a bow even if they were booing. One of the best to ever do it.
He truly was one of the all time great drivers.
He was always my favorite post race interview … he’d tell it like it is and never held back. He used to be on of my least favorite drivers in his early years and then he grew on me. The past few years he became my favorite. What a sad day
Having a hard time believing this…
Someone please tell us this is jus’ a sick joke?!
I’m a Huge NASCAR fan I just found out by my son. Horrible news and shocking to say the least!
RIP Kyle Busch one of the very best to ever do it. Gone but never forgotten!
Prayers for his family and friends. This really is heartbreaking.💔
WoW!!!!, I just happen to be watching a recent truck race that I don't usually watch at all and he WON it! I thought it was rather odd that he was competing at that event in the first place, but just goes to show his love of racing.
Might have been his last win and then I saw the news today. I could not believe it. Thought it was fake news.
Wish it was, he was a Great Racer no doubt.
RIP.....
RIP to a legend gone too soon.😢🫡
Heartbreaking to say the least. I’m in disbelief still.
Woke up this morning and saw the news. It's a crying shame that he passed. 41 is way to young.
With todays medicine and everything available, I just can't understand why they couldn't help him.
Condolences to his family, friends and fans. He is a legend taken to soon.
Really sad news, he was an unbelievable talent who matured a lot in later years to become an ambassador for NASCAR in a lot of ways. An absolutely uncompromising competitor who was always willing to take it right to the edge (and occasionally beyond).
Pit Row
yeah I walked in yesterday and my wife asked if I heard about Kyle Busch and that he passed. For whatever reason I heard Kyle Petty and I didnt really connect the dots. I then saw it was KP later that evening. Pretty crazy because I just his post race interview the day before. Lost him, kyle from 1320 and the biff in a short period. All out of nowhere. They say it comes in threes
I hate it for KP's family
Sounds like severe pneumonia was the cause. Damn, at that age it’s usually pretty treatable. Makes you wonder if he was so driven to compete that he just didn’t take it as seriously as he should have. NASCAR racers may not have the fitness of some athletes in other sports, but most of them are pretty fit compared to the average Joe and I’d bet that he was the type that was usually fit enough that he felt he could work through just about any illness.
Last February I was hospitalized with pneumonia that the doctors think had ‘simmered’ for nearly 10 months, when I was initially diagnosed for it and treated. I felt unbelievably run down that whole time until finally it suddenly got a lot worse and I could barely stand up on my own. It felt like I was drowning also. The doctor said 2-3 more days and I wouldn’t have recovered. As it is, it affected my heart pretty badly and that’s only partially recovered over the last 14 months.
Man, I wish his family solace and some semblance of peace and comfort in their grieving. It’s one thing to be semi prepared for this sort of thing happening on the racetrack because of his profession, but I doubt any of them thought this could/would happen.
"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications"
At his age and state of health, if you make it to the hospital alive with pneumonia and sepsis you should not die. Those last two words of the statement are doing a lot of work here. Hopefully the family gets some more specifics on those complications.
Conspiracy theories are surfacing……
I'm not at all suggesting conspiracy, I just don't want people to think it's normal to die from sepsis and pneumonia at 41 if you're feeling good enough to go to work to start your day and make it to the hospital alive. So when the statement says complications, I'd just be curious what those were? Avoidable? Rare? Something else missed? Because the complications are probably the more accurate cause of death.
Pneumonia and sepsis can certainly kill people, but it's usually after they've sat on a vent and other various forms of life support for a few days, not going from walking to dead in a few hours.
Sepsis is scary stuff.
I don't want to share too many details, but I just got out of the hospital with sepsis.
Spent almost 2 weeks in the hospital. Mother's Day I was fine, made a big dinner for the wife and family and before dinner was over I felt like I was crashing. My temperature was 101.8 and I was pretty loopy. We went to the ER and after triage I was told to go wait in the waiting area. I told them they will find me on the floor. I got a bed pretty quick.
Sepsis takes a while to diagnose, because the blood tests take 24-48 hours to culture. I felt like I was barely hanging on that first 24 hours. Never felt so sick in my life.
I am 100% sure if I didn't go to the ER that night I wouldn't be here today. I have to do at-home IV antibiotics for 2 more weeks.
Wow! Glad you made it thru ….🙏
It’s hard to imagine that he didn’t have a super high fever and that he felt good enough to go into the sim. Must have been just gutting it out.
After a recent race, he “got a shot” from…I believe…a track doc…he was feelong pretty rough during the race and called out for “a shot” at the end of the race/when he got out of the car.
If I had to guess…things like this very likely masked just how bad he was doin’.
No matter, it’s all just awfully damn sad. Especially for his kids.
