Excited for this. The more competition the more exciting racing will get.

Don’t be surprised if they both go 1-1 at Southwick.

So much fun!!!  I love Thunder Valley and would love to go, but have a work conflict this year.

Will be glued to the TV on race day though.

They will, from the latest news, participate some of the rounds this year.

Are they bringing Jett’s motorhome over?

...and Mirtl's babysitter?

Awesome for the series! Right around top 10, maybe?

Bolley, Chiodi and De Reuver too (Southwick 2001).

Prepare yourselves for the social media warfare between Coenen and Deegan before this race. Lucas is the only one that seems to play into Deegan’s game of social media clowning and he ultimately has made Deegan look bad to his crowd every time Deegan ducked racing MXoN against him.

I expect the biggest “drama” to come from those two since the Lawrence camp aren’t playing into Deegan’s poking of the bear stuff (which I think is the better choice, tbh)

Love it, super cool when the lads across the pond want to come here and compete.

Both should be racing for podiums...  If Sasha stays rubber side down, he's going to be competing for a win.

EuroMX leaders Garcia and Cannon (the emx250 Kawasaki Team / Venum Bud) are also racing one of the rounds! (Southwick)

Smets was indeed the hard working, showing tons of grit guy, starting MX at age 18 (EIGHTEEN), on a CR500. Jumping on a Husaberg enduro bike and falling in love with the 4 stroke power and winning 5 world championships!

But how gifted do you need to be to become WC in MX, when you enter the sport at 18? That is the age some of his competitors where already racing GPs.

About Belgian wildcards, I think Desalle was the best with 2-2 in Unadilla. Everts went 5-5 back in 97 in Unadilla, struggling a bit with the production bike.

I know very well what Joël smelt has achieved nothing wrong whit that...... but he didn't have the talent of everts or bervoets at that time..... and those 5 titles where in the 500 and mx3, and those weren't the classes where the real top riders competed back then.......

Smets was like John Down, just with more wins and titles. (Yes I’m counting downs 125cc west coast title lol)

Joel had a freshly F**ked Shoulder.

And, as mild as Southwick is, when compared to some Euro Sand tracks, it's still a Very, Very Demanding Circuit.

On the 'talent' thing, well yes, I'd say "large' has that over Joel, but , he'd not (yet, if ever)  come close to Joel Smets in terms of Determination and Willpower.

I don't think Smets raced until he was 17, with no huge  Team Infrastructure available to him, in his formative years, and, largely, (well, I don't think he raced on 250s , many times, until very late in his career)  on Open Classers.

You'd be hard pressed to find a more polar opposite journey into World Championship Motocross ( resulting in 5 World Championships for Joel) , than Smets and the Coenens.

Good on those two Youngsters having a go - I just hope neither ( well, especially 'Small' ), do not get hurt, taking on a chance / challenge like this.

DeSalle got a third in a moto in 09 as well. 2013 he did pretty good too for how stacked that field was when he got here. I want to say Everts went 3-5 or 5-3 he had the pace but crashed in one of the motos. He talked about how the Americans went balls to the walls from the drop of the gate.

Don't forget Marc De Reuver (sp?) in 08 .

2nd fastest in practice  to JS, 3rd in the 1st Moto.

Pranged in the second moto, and thought of his Real Job, that of the GPs, and stopped.

'Big Ken' did a National, out of a van and with a borrowed bike.

I wish some top US riders would have a go at a GP or two. But of course, 'they don't need to' will be trotted out...........

I do hope Tomac eventually has a go, as he's , at times, expressed a desire to do.

You know, given the nature of all this new, uh you know . . .  this could be a a lot more, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, complex . . . . I  mean it's not just . .. . it might not be just such a simple, uh, you know . . . . Hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?

You're not completely wrong though, the Coenen brothers are not shy to have a mental battle. They don't back up for anyone, as they should 😁
