Doing the outdoor countdown thread and the question struck me whether Dean's 15 is the longest running permanent number of active riders. He's been running it since at least 2011 (apart from the gear he ran 1). Quite a career given the ups and downs with injuries.

Chiz 11 same year I believe
I think Chiz and Dean both started running their numbers in 2011.
I’d say Deegan will have the number 1 for the rest of his career.

What up turd breathe?? 🤣🤣
Just couldn't help yourself, could ya?🙄
Somehow seems like Chiz has had his number longer
Not to change the subject, but I always wondered what he accomplished to earn the number 11?
He remembered to not leave his iPod at the Stewart Compound, unlike Kyle Reagal, for one.
Scored enough points to get a permanent 11-99 number multiple years
I'd say wow you're even smoking crack in your avatar pic 😉
We should start a series of Chiz and/or Deano jokes like the Chuck Norris ones. You know, like "Chiz remembers everything about the day he earned #11, including how many dinosaur eggs he ate for breakfast," or "Dean earned the number 15 and then asked God to create the universe."
Okay, he has finished in the top ten of Overall Points Standings a total of 5 times throughout his entire career which in fact started in 2004.
He still has some work to do to catch up to Reed's record of 18 years (2003-2020).
He had a good year in sx and mx in 2010 and scored top 10 in overall points to earn a career number. He was really fast in 2011 before he wadded himself up pretty good (I think a chain broke on him).
Not to hijack the thread, but was he injured all year or something? He was a complete non-factor in SX. I genuinely forgot he was even in the series until I saw him congratulating KR94 after the final round.
People keep saying the series are “better with him in it,” but based on that performance… how exactly?
He only did 5 races, he is semi retired since last year already. What's wrong with you?
Seeing that picture reminded me of how goddamn badass Deano was on a 250. Watching him rail Pala was a sight to behold.
Pit Row
He looked like that "kid" in the Whoops in SLC last Saturday, too.
Did RC ever run the 1 outside of the 125?
Literal bedbugs
OCCASSIONALLY RC RAN THE NO,1 I THINK IT WAS MAINLY TO SHOW APPRECIATION TO THE MANUFACTURER THAT SPONSORED HIM. HAVING THE 1 ON YOUR BRAND HAS ALWAYS BEEN IMPORTANT TO BIKE MANUFACTURERS.
Interesting. In 2004 it looks like he rode with the #4 all year in the MX series, except the final round at Glen Helen, he rode with #1: https://americanmotocrossresults.com/
He did it then as a send off to the people in the rig who supported him at his last race with Honda in 2004.
He may have run the 101 pre MXdN one year at the last round as well, but I'm getting old and 20 years again gets hazy.
That's be a interesting list - length with the number while actively competing
Roczen 14 years (2013-current)
Barcia 14 years (2013-current)
Tomac 13 years (2014-current)
Brayton 12 years (2011-2022)
Anderson 12 years (2015-current)
Jeremy Martin 10 years (2016-2025)
Justin Hill 10 years (2017-current)
Does anybody else have 10+ years?
With Reed, Dean and Chiz on there, I'd check maybe Mike Brown and Windham. Stew may be at 10 years, can't remember how long Tedesco ran with the 9.
Alessi?
Yep, 11 years for Stew (2006-2016).
At least 12 for Brown (2002-2013). Did he have #3 prior to 2002?
At least 14 for Windham (2000-2013)
Only 9 for Tedesco (06-14).
Brown: #3 from 2002-2013.
Windham: #14 from 1999-2013.
Stewart: #7 from 2006-2016 (still had claim to #7 in 2017 but did not race).
Tedesco: #9 from 2006-2012.
Alessi: #800 from 2004-2017, 2019 (did not race in 2018; ran #800 again in 2019).
Based completely off my memory. Apologies if not 100% accurate.
