Too many people in this sport want Total Control.
What kind of precedent did/could this set in the future.
Monster, as far as I know, doesnt blur out any of the riders sponsers logos. Anything not related to the raceing itself could be considered time and space paid for by Monster when they pay the big bucks to sponser the series
You know I do another expensive hobby ( flying giant scale aerobatic RC airplanes 50cc - 170cc sized ) and in that hobby/sport.......Monster will just give you huge decals to put on your airplanes , and actually sponsor a couple pilots.
Redull on the other hand......have threatened to sue RC airplane manufactures and pilots themselves for even putting a sticker on their plane! I know of two decal companies that make decals for these airplanes that got a written letter from their attorney , that they needed to stop making the "redbull decals".....or they would see them in court.
And again.....Monster on the other hand.....will GIVE YOU decals......they love the idea of free advertising!
Just FYI FWIW.
I do think it's a little petty, but Monster does pay big bucks for SX. And, I think Red Bull would do the same if they were in that position.
Here is a short video with a so-so pilot of the airplane I have >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm_bH9jHLDU
It doesn't matter though.....I'm selling it because I have a few other airplanes that blow this thing out of the water in freestyle aerobatics.
P.S.
The blurred Red Bull logo would have drawn a lot less attention had they used gaffer tape instead... although, even then I doubt that it could have prevented this thread from popping up, because nobody pulls a fast one on vitalmxers -and I mean nobody!
Both Monster and Rockstar took different routes in marketing, by opening their logos up to use by anyone and essentially whoring out their logo to almost anyone and everyone.
Is that good?
Well, it did help build their brands
But of course now when you see a Monster or Rockstar logo on a truck or something, you think that person is likely a tool
So, what's best?
Protecting your brand and logo
or whoring it out?
Two different marketing/branding philosophies
At first I thought it was a blurred out logo, but then if you watch him moving around you can see the logo peek out from behind the blur.
Thats why i think it was just something on the camera.
Pit Row
TP is a Red Bull Athlete, he was furnished that hat to wear.
TV doesn't need any permissions
Which is why Red Bull has been ultra-protective of their logo
Notice you cannot buy Red Bull decals, gear, helmets or any of that?
Red Bull strictly protects their logo
But I tell you one thing, they WANT their logo on the podium at a MONSTER SUPERCROSS or on TV at a MONSTER SUPERCROSS
If I remember right, Monster is (or was) suing MX Sports over Muscle Milk being involved in the Nationals and/or LL's (someone remembers the details)
My God there are some dumbfucks on this board who make worthless comments that serve no purpose but to start shit..
