How is Prado gonna do good outdoors when he starts fading hard 10-15 minutes into a Supercross main?
He’s gonna have a hard time not dropping the anchor in a 30+2 twice.
Motocross isn't supercross.
I think Prado is trying to make it to outdoors in one piece. Maybe you could give him a little credit for how drastically his supercross skills are improving, but probably to much to ask.
It's actually kinda hilarious that he assumes a multi time mx champ doesn't have any fitness before the series has even begun
Your right it much more physically demanding, and Prado has faded hard lately.

Cool thing is, we'll get to see in a few short weeks! I have no skin in the game one way or another, but it would be awesome to have another top guy in the mix as a title threat. Hopefully Sexton finds his magical setting (or bike) by then too!
See if you can find the video of hopper pressuring him to answer some of his cycling stats. Dudes a freak physically.
You do know that if you ride tight (as I’m sure Prado does indoors), it doesn’t matter how fit you are, right? I am not even close to a fan, and even I believe that he’ll likely be a completely different rider outdoors.
I think Jorge is going to have a running battle with Deegs outdoors for 3-5 place..........
For all the Prado haters..... it was the bike/team.
Podiums first SX on KTM. Doesn't take any crap from Webb, like Justin Cooper did at Denver when trying to pass.
I think it’s skills, not fitness. He’s not willing to push in SX with the high consequences of a crash that could be season- or career-ending.
His heat races are great, but at the end of the main event, when the track gets annihilated, I don’t think he’s developed the skills yet to really push. I do think he will by about year four. Last year was cut short. If he gets two more consistent years, he’ll be a top-5 guy on most nights.
Or I’m an idiot and he sucks.
One would say if it was skills, why can he win Heat races, set top times in qualifying, and then proceed to get a good start and fade hard?
If it’s one race I get it, but it’s happened more often than not.
Not a Prado hater by the way, he’s made a dramatic improvement this year over last.
Just trying to understand why he’s gonna do better in motocross in a more physically demanding discipline and not fade like he has in SX?
The he’s a world champion doesn’t hold water either when most of the gps do not get nearly as hot and humid as it does here.
Good luck to him and the rest of them. I hope they all go fast as fuck and duel until the last round. May the best man win, lets all be entertained!
Well, according to the broadcast graphic he has 187 SX starts...
I'm not sure what to expect from him. I want to say that he's an easy top 5 guy outdoors but still have to see it. He has impressed me this year, compared to last year.
My biggest issue with him, in SX at least, is that he gets out front and pinches guys in the air and borderline cross jumps people. It's clear that he holds the top guys up because it takes 3 laps to pass him, but then gap him immediately after passing. It's kind of frustrating to watch.
JT said on one of the pulp shows that he thinks Prado has the ability to go that fast but it’s not a sustainable pace, so eventually he settles into a better race pace and that’s when he goes backwards.. This makes sense, he has a lot of intensity and looks like he is sprinting, for how new to SX he is, his raw speed is really impressive, if he can get his comfortable race pace up, he has a real chance at winning some of these
That’s the point AC is making. Motocross is much more physically demanding than SX. If he fades in SX , he’s more than likely gonna fade in Motocross.
Something tells me Sexton will not find his magical bike setting.....
I think the 4 time world motocross champion will be just fine when it comes to the outdoors.
Pit Row
I think it's more to do with him being mentally fatigued
I was probably watching another race ..prado was very good until that action by Cooper webb.
When did he drop the anchor yesterday? He rode tight some laps when people were around him and lost some time riding too defensive. But most of the main he was fine. After 15 min he was within 1 sec of tomac. Then made a mistake in the whoops and Webb gained 3 sec on him which started the whole 4 way battle. So he started riding tight and defensive again. Has nothing to do with fitness
This.
Ask Stewart, he's a believer if you watch from 26:35
Don’t forget Prado came straight into 450s.
He’s 2 years younger then Hunter Lawrence, he had plenty of time to adapt.
Prado to the front.
I think he'll be a 3-5 guy outdoors but that's legit. He's legit. He is really fast and talented. I think he'll lose to Jett and hunter. Possibly Eli too if he's locked in
I think Prado has made large steps forward this season. Him and Deegan clashing will be the talk of the series come outdoors
Tell us you’ve never raced moto without telling us you’ve never raced moto.
I wonder if everyone who has an opinion about prado before the nationals has ever followed mxgp because then you know that he can beat anyone..............
