This doesn't seem to be talked about as much but Jett is an incredible starter and starts are a notable weak point for Haiden, even being one of the smallest guys in the field on by far the most powerful 250. If he comes off the gate in 15th he won't have an easy time running everyone down like he does now

I agree with you. It's a very armchair/amateur thought maybe but had it in my mind many times... Deegan is one of the smaller riders and he is on one of the fastest 250s (probably the fastest). Power/Weight ratio is really good... it won't be the same advantage in 450s...

Looking forward to seeing that #14 be a wildcard these outdoors, there’s been some life these last few rounds.

Really hope he does good this year. He is sneaky fast this year in SX but with the same starts as Chase almost impossible to ride with the top guys. Won't be that bad outdoors hopefully

Still think a lot of you have it wrong. Haiden's coming into this MX season ready to learn and gauge where he is at before being full time 450 next year, much like he did those few rounds of WSX he raced.. I truly don't think he is set on running with Jett right away and will only do it when and if he feels comfortable enough to do it, otherwise I think a lot of you are putting expectations on Haiden that he doesn't even have on himself for this outdoor season.

I think some of it comes from running same lap times with a 250 as the 450 guys did, I never under estimate anyone and Deegan may be working as hard as his mouth does, whatever happens its going to be good

That happens all the time but it's only been made into a big deal when Deegan's done it

A lot of people seem to love comparing Deegan to Alessi. They're similar in one respect, but that's it. Alessi was nowhere close to the rider that Deegan is.

I could be wrong but I think Alessi won more amateur titles than Deegan, and as a pro probably got more holeshots than Haiden too, but Deegan is without question the better racer.

his 450 career will be just like his 250...first season hell be top 5ish with a breakout ride or two like his 250 ride at washougal, and otherwise consistent.  Year 2-3 he becomes a problem, the kid has not missed a race due to injury(MXON doesnt count), hunter, sexton, eli, jett, etc all have.  He'll be in the hunt just based off his consistency if the trend continues...."his riding style wont translate" his riding style is the same if not better then multiple past champions who ride wide open(JS, tomac, rv, carmicheal), just because jett is unique and has made it work, so far he's the only one.  He's a phenom doesnt mean you have to ride like him to win...see sexton vs tomac 22 for evidence of that.

38 will have an amazing season but it wont be undefeated so everyone will just talk about how much he sucks😂. as if that is now the standard to be measured against.  but everyone else who also hasnt gone undefeated is much better then him lol the hypocrisy is only going to be amplified from the peanut gallery who want nothing more then to see this kid fail.

I don't see him as a top 5 guy this summer, I see him as a podium guy. Yes, Jett is there but not once of us knows if he's truly 100%, or if he's just close, but ready enough to race. Hunter may have a lingering wrist issue?  We know about Eli's hip.  Chase right now is all over the place, you don't get to have this kind of season, then think he's just going to be there round one ready to podium.

Right now, Haiden is just fueling Jett's fire. The only way this works is if he beats him a few times in a row. Then MAYBE the head games would start working. Right now though, it's just annoying Jett and he knows he's gonna track that f*****er down.

The smack talk is working as intended, already 5 pages in and counting.  We just need everyone to stay healthy now.

agree, i think 18, 96, 38 are going to be the big 3...the wildcards are sexton, prado, and tomac, all 3 of those guys on an good day have what it takes to beat deegan his rookie season.  Also the real wild card is ferrandis he hasnt been himself the last few years, but he's been doing much better in sx recently and seems to be bonding with that duke, if he clicks with that thing outdoors he could be a podium disruptor.

It's working if you have the "any publicity is good publicity" mindset

I was referring to Jett having an undefeated season

As was I

Chase was second best that year, he just never even led a lap since Jett was so dominant

38 is dang good at avoiding injury even with some pretty big get offs. Jett is not as good at that. I can’t wait till Pala.

I'd agree that so far , Haiden has been near bulletproof. As we all know, we get fast, we get hurt, takes a while to build back up to speed if we ever even can again.
