Great news. As long as he is staying on 2 wheels. It is fun to watch him ride. I have a feeling we'll be hearing his name for years to come.

its not about an sx lites title, thats a long shot even after just 2 rounds...it about exposure for the bike and gettin the kid more experience

Supercross isn't easy to adapt to, for most anyone. There is always a learning curve, and it has to begin at some point..We are only two races in, why people are jumping to conclusions about him probably heading back home just kind of shocks me......I mean, did people really think he was going to come and clean house in his first year in supercross? why would anyone expect that? I dont get it sometimes..

Sunhouse!! You probably know by now I'm a huge GP fan but lets get real. 1st off the SX series is , even though I like MX more ,, the most prestigious dirt bike series in the world. Not to mention gigantic for KTM in showing their bikes to the American public. KTM is well established in Europe as a dominant bike but still hasn't broken through in America as a viable option for the top level national pros.



On top of all that like kenny said last week. When he was a kid he didn't dream of being GP champ. He dreamed of being the sx champ. The kid IMO is the most talented teenager in the world and I say let the kid do his thing.

Therefore, it is not a big stretch to question the wisdom of sacrificing the long term goal for a short term satisfaction, is it not?

Ken just needs to relax, if he gets a start he'll be fine. When he's in the back of the pack he starts making frantic passes and then makes mistakes. Calm down and he'll win.

The long term goal is also for Ken to win in Supercross.... racing the next four rounds will help him and KTM for next season. KTM want the exposure in the USA for their 250f bike. Ken is the only ride to give them that right now ( and he is fast enough to podium or win) , on the other hand KTM have two top riders in the GP team to fight for the GP title if Ken gets hurt,

You can't wrap him in cotton wool... Paulin rode Sx last year and didn't get hurt... but got hurt practicing for the GPs one week before it started.

Ken is smart enough to learn fast... he has no more chance of getting hurt in supercross than anyone else. And the risk isn't any greater now than it was for KTM or Ken when they originally decided to race the first 6 West supercross races.

Thats a big assumption that he is doing these SX races for short term satisfaction. My guess is his long term plan is to move here permantly and be a player here. That means Supercross.
His initiation has just started, why quit now? Once he settles down he will be a SX champ, not this year, but for many years to come in the future. Like they say, its easier to calm down a wildman than teach a mellow guy to go faster!

he set fastest lap time in qualifying at the very 1st sx he entered...i'd say the learning curve has been ironed out

Herlings was riding close to my home, in Lleida, and he was ABSOLUTELY flying. I mean, the only's who have something for Herlings are Simpson, Paulin (if he races MX2) and Roczen.

Aren't you the americans who have a rule which says which amount of bikes a brand has to sell to race on the AMA championships? I think TM, a Aprilia and especially GasGas are faaar from that amount.

Roczen has LONG term goal in SX in my opinion. Short term isn't even in the equation.

Agreed. I get that if he plans on racing here in the future that he will need to know Supercross, but he is well on his way to an injury.
