Wish I could make it Saturday. Someone give us a ride report and let us know how it is.

This is awesome, but I can't wait for the vet track to open.  Yes, I am old and slow.

Is that like 50$ for 20 minutes session or 50$ for all day?

Their website says 50$ for session, so I don’t know?

$50 for the day.  Practice looks like it will be broken up into 3 groups at 20 minutes each.

Looks awesome, thanks!  It looks fairly tame for a main track (which is great for me).  Just curious what the C riders and slower Vet guys thought of it?

Not knowing the history of that but was that full size lake at one time ? And if so what happened to it. Living in Texas and man made lakes just has me thinking.

I went yesterday day and it was really fun. The track follows the same footprint I think. They mixed in sand and the corners are a lot better, and the triples all have easy double options. They split practice into 3 groups 20 minutes each. 50 to ride all day

It is a full sized lake and not man made.  Although much effort is put towards maintaining the water level and keeping the water as clean as possible.  The actual lake is a little north of the track.  Boating, watersports, camping…

I had a similar experience, though I did want more track time.

The prep was fantastic and the layout is fairly safe. The triple step up in the back isn’t exactly forgiving but the rest of the jumps seem to have a decent “safety net” if you come up short.

Crc245’s video made it look really easy. It sounded like he was hitting the big triple in the back in 4th, I was barely getting to the knuckle in 3rd. It took me 3 motos to hit everything hoping to link everything better next time

Yeah the split practices and water/grooming threw off getting warmed up and how I usually pace my self.
Yeah the triple after the right 180? I saw a couple guys get sketchy on that

Yep. I saw the same thing (and I was one of those guys who almost went down there). Aside from that I think the layout is pretty safe.

Likely an unpopular opinion but it seems like the segmented practices work better in theory than they do in reality. Takes away from the relaxed feel of an open practice like most socal tracks run and results in less track time and the track feeling more crowded than it needs to. Maybe just split it up between big bikes and little bikes with longer time slots if that’s the main concern.

I think simply doing big bike vs. little bike days would suffice for weekday practice.

Weekends need split practices between big & little bikes.

Too bad we never got the track next to the 71. Having a plethora of tracks to choose from definitely helped with organic crowd control (back when we still had milestone & starwest around)

Rode the new Elsinore this weekend. Dirt is still not great, but does seem a bit better than it used to be. Concrete base with some big cloddy dirt on top that seems to dry up quick. Corners developed some good lines still. Layout was fun - some big jumps out there, but they are well made and not sketchy.

I was not a fan of the split practices, but I get they probably had to put something in place from an insurance perspective. Took forever to get in the gate upon entry (probably because everyone had to fill out the waiver for the first time), and feels like a race day with a bunch of sitting and waiting. I usually like to get there early and ride my motos and head out vs spend all day sitting at the track. I was there for a lot longer than I usually spend on a practice day, and put 2/3 of the time I usually do on the bike in twice the time spent at the track.

On the east coast its common to have split practices. I got spoiled moving to CA and being able to dictate my own schedule when at the track.

I could see the old intermediate track but it doesn't appear they have done much with it, so I'm not sure if they are planning on getting that running any time soon. I still prefer Pala, GH, and Cahuilla over Elsinore, but it's good to have options and mix it up periodically.

EDIT - I miss Milestone.

I rode it today for the first time too. The only reason is because they extended practice sessions with less time between. I can see big bikes and little bike split but to split big bikes with maybe 100 riders was too much. I will say 3 - 30s before noon is fine for me. Hope they get the Vet track and open it up a bit more because it seems like it would not last if attendance as it was today. As you said the dirt is bit better with some ruts but not like Fox. I like all the local tracks, they are all just different which is good to have the variety!
