I’m looking to move to TN from Tampa/orlando area in FL. There’s tracks all over in FL but my initial searches in TN are a bit discouraging I can’t seem to find much.
I’ll probably move to either outside of Nashville (preferably) or outside of Chattanooga. Of the two, which would be best central location to be near as many tracks as possible? Where are the best tracks located? It’d be a real bummer to be in a dead zone for motox

I saw one outside of blue ridge the other day. Fanning county mx, I think. It looked nice. With as much tourism that is in the area you would think there would be more tracks.
I can hit 5 different tracks within a 2 hour drive. I guess I’m starting to find out that’s not the case pretty much anywhere else lol
You are correct. We moved here from southern Indiana when we retired 2 years ago. This is mx heaven as far as number of tracks.
Me and my riding buddies live in and around The Villages. I think we have about 6 or 7 tracks within a 2 hour drive. In Indiana we had 2, and one of them wasn't very good. I can't speak to the mx scene in Socal but it seems to be very good. Other than that, you'll find that mx tracks are pretty spaced out. Plus, you can only ride about half the year due to the weather when you get that far north.
Good luck with your move!.
You don’t think they ride in the winter in TN?

I live in Cleveland just east of Chattanooga, there isn't much here outside of private tracks. There have been a few within an hour or so over the years, but they've all closed for one reason or another. Woods/trail riding is a lot more popular around here.
Where do you think is the best location to be central to as many tracks possible?

This is actually super helpful. Thanks
Idk who keeps thumbing down every comment on this post but it’s super weird lol
I live south of Nashville and tracks are a bit thin. Chattanooga has more tracks closer to ride with tracks in Ga and Alabama close by.
Probably Nashville. Aside from the lack of tracks, this area of Tn is growing way too fast. Infrastructure isn’t prepared for the amount of growth we’re experiencing.
Are the tracks up there normally closed for the winter or open year-round?
If you live in minneapolis there are 7 or 8 tracks within a 2 hour drive…but we can only ride them 6 months out of the year haha
Taking 24 between Clarksville and Nashville would be part of the schedule if I had to choose how to be tortured to death
Year round. In the winter months we don’t get to ride every weekend but you still will have openings once a month at least, unless you just hit the anti lottery.
Regarding the thumbs downs, this forum houses some mentally unwell adults with nothing to do.
Probably the same pussies that downvote every other thread as well.
Good one! Lmao.

I'm in Cookeville. Coming from central Florida (moved here from Zephyrhills) the moto scene here is almost nonexistent. An above poster listed the tracks in the area. The 2nd week of December through the 2nd week of February are a crap shoot on if tracks will be open. Compared to Florida, when we get rain here it may take days/weeks for the ground to dry in the winter. We are just far enough north that the ground freezes overnight and then thaws into a muddy mess during the day. Close to me there is also Cub Mountain and Pickett state forest, but its quite a bit different than riding somewhere such as croom. I started building a track last fall on my property which will eventually be open to the public, but it will probably be sometime next year before I am done and ready to open
I would seriously reconsider moving here if you plan on riding alot.
I live in Nasvhille, this area is one of the worst areas in any state for Motocross. The closest public track (fast farms) is an hour and 45 mins from my house. Most are 2-3 hours. All the tracks everyone mentioned above are 2-3 or even more hours from Nashville.
There is not one public track near here. There are a few private tracks if you are able to connect with the right folks but its hard to maintain the home tracks here in the summer. There is no way around it. If you want to ride, you are going to drive.
How far is echo valley for you?
Around 2.5hrs. I go there often, was there Sunday.
right on. I'm 28 on the rmz. I'm almost always there. Even more unmistakable is the little red car i pull the bike with lol. Come say whats up some time
I just posted this little vid from sunday - i'll have to look at my other clips to see if you are in any of them lol
Corner speed looking great. I hope to get to go this weekend but the weather is looking bad ):
